“Our 3rd Visit to Andre's Bouchee”

We both had the dover sole special which was not on the menu. We each got a whole fish cooked in a lemon & butter sauce brought to the table and filleted at the table. It was brilliant. For a starter we had the mussels which were also wonderful. Service and food - simply wonderful.

The only downside was that I had asked for a quiet table in the back and got a table by the window up front. It turned out to be ok, but would have preferred to be in the back.

“Honor the Father”

We very much appreciated this experience. It all began with the wine steward who gave us great and brave advice on the right wine for the right food. He spent a lot of time asking about our taste and what we were planning to have for our meal. The match was perfect. Along with the wine we had an amazing salad, risotto with mushrooms, and sea bass. We split this selection between the two of us, and they clearly up the portions to make this work. The owner was warm and gracious. This is the type of warm experience you want to have with the delicious meal.

“Third visit -can't get enough!”

Everything we have eaten on our three visits were excellent! While we have been to the restaurant twice as a couple, our first choice is with a group so that we can order several appetizers and salads to split and then order our own entree. We have enjoyed all but three of the appetizers/salads, all excellent. My personal entrée favorite, St. Jacques au saffron-perfection. Daughter's fav, Risotto aux Fruits de Mer. Hubby's fav Ris de Veau au Champignons-he just can't help himself. We are so impressed with Dimitri's wine knowledge & suggestions that we just tell him what we are eating and our price range and he never fails to impress. He's quite a character and is willing to share his knowledge with you. Some of the best food we have ever eaten.

“If you are into wine and good food look no further.”

What a find. We all enjoyed our meals. And while one of us was vegan, we went to the restaurant earlier in the day (as we were walking through town) and spoke to someone who arranged with the chef to prepare a special dish to accommodate the needs of the vegan. But the biggest surprise was the wine list. Dimitri, who was the sommelier, took such pride in having put together the wonderful and extensive selection which could rival those found in top restaurants around the world. He was very knowledgeable and did not push the most expensive wines. So if you are planning a trip to Carmel make this one of your stops.

“Best meal in Carmel....and we ate our way through the entire town!”

We just finished an amazing dinner at Andre's. I saw the great reviews and some of the local shop clerks recommended it and said Stephan (owner) was very friendly. They were right in that I was dying to try his wagyu foie gras burger (lunch only) but we were always out hiking at lunch. Because we were going to come in midweek (quieter night) he was gracious enough to let me try it at dinner.

The menu was great and I debated on my choice since numerous other items sounded equally great (pork tenderloin with morels and other mushrooms). I stuck to my guns and had the burger and my ore half had the rib eye. Both dishes were phenomenal and the burger was rich and the foie gras was a GREAT complement and not just trendy. Besides the entrees, the wine list was robust with lots of options (L'Angevin pinot and half bottle white burgundy) and the appetizers were creative and delicious. We tried the scallop carpaccio and salmon cannelloni. Both unique and really refreshing to offset the rich entrees.

Highly recommend given the welcoming atmosphere and great quality food which was unique and delicious.
