Description: Mundaka is a Spanish style tapas restaurant in downtown Carmel, CA. It is the result of great friendships, a love of food and wine and music, and a long term romance with Spain and its culture. Open in March 2009, Mundaka continues to evolve daily with the creations of our chef Brandon Miller, and the musical musings of all our talented contributors. Mundaka aspires to be the hub for all that is tasty, fun, artistic, creative, and cultural in Carmel-by-the-sea. We look forward to seeing you soon.

My wife and I went to Mundaka on our first night in Carmel. We tried a variety of dishes as one does with tapas. the food is exceptionally well prepared and presented. It's locally sourced so everything was full of flavor and fresh. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the staff provides casual, relaxed but attentive and friendly service. Try the mini lamb burger and one of their specialty cocktails.

This restaurant came highly recommended by trip advisor and our innkeeper. The food was excellent with loads of great flavours. The only dish we did not care for was the duck breast escabeche. The service was friendly but extremely slow. The waitress was kind enough to even give us one tapa for free as it took so long to arrive. The restaurant was full and it was a Monday night so perhaps they were short staffed. Dessert was delicious. We had the ricotta crepes with rioja pears. .Tasted amazing. We finished our meal with decaf americanos. Worst cup of coffee ever. So bitter. So we left with mixed feelings about the place.

Really enjoyed our meal here. The atmosphere is casual and fun. The waiter was very helpful, and everything was fresh and flavorful. It was hard to choose because there are so many delicious sounding items on the menu. Our favorite dishes were the bacon wrapped dates and the shredded zucchini with almonds and cheese. Dessert was outstanding too, some of the best creme brulee I've ever had.

Had dinner Sun night with 5 friends from out of town (NH) and we all loved this place. The service was efficient prompt and friendly. The food was delicious - especially the oadrones, paella and duck confit. It was my first time so I'm giving 4 - I'll amend after a repeat visit.

cozy, warm, friendly. The food was similar, well prepared and offer by waist staff who where able to present our dinning options in such a way as to help us with each order. They accommodated children nicely but is best suited for adults.

Will return for the paella as it was very good.
