“Wonderful meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013 via mobile

Our third night in Carmel, we dined at Christopher's. There were four of us and we had a great table in a corner. Menu had many choices, plus there were a few specials. We each ordered something different and everyone was pleased. The prices were not outrageous and the wine list was good. The creme brûlée was creamy and came with blueberries. Can't wait to return!

“Amazing Anniversary”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

My husband and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary here. The service was amazing. We found this place on Groupon. I was worried that because we had a Groupon voucher that we would be treated differently. That was far from the truth. We had a wonderful evening. We enjoyed champagne, an appetizer, soup and salad, entree, bottle of wine, and dessert. From the champagne to the dessert, everything was above our expectations. We have been in many 5 star restaurants and the service and food was above those levels. My husband had the cooked oysters which he loved. The stuffed sole was full of flavor. My swordfish was delicious. And we can't forget the scrumptious desserts: cheesecake and pecan chocolate cake. We will definitely return for another special occasion in the future, Groupon or not.

“Delicious dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

We came for the seasonal special of soft shell crabs. We consider these a real treat. They were on the daily special as an appetizer, but were made available to us as a dinner. They were just delicious, with a lovely presentation. We shared a salad as the portions were large, and also a dessert - the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream which was rich and creamy. I think people are excited when they come here and seemed to be enjoying themselves which made the noise level a little louder with all of the lively conversations going on. The atmosphere is inviting, like a living room, and we faced the window where we could see a lovely sunset. The only suggestion I would make for the restaurant is to have the specials written, as it is so many to listen to, and how can one remember what all the waiter said?

“It's A Fine Line”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

Last night's dinner had many more hits than misses, but... This restaurant is favored by locsl Baby Boomer who are apt to enjoy one of the many specialty cocktails, rather than fine wine. The noise level, especially on a busy Saturday night can make cross table conversation a challenge. There is a fine line between a wait staff allowing diners to have a leisurely meal and feeling as though you are being neglected. We felt neglected! The menu included soft shell crab, which can be secured either as an appetizer or main course. This seasonal specialty was wonderful. The special salmon was wonderfully prepared and oh so fresh. Christopher's has an awesome cornbread chili rellano, stuffed with shrimp. Also ordered and enjoyed was the lamb shank. Perfectly prepared, and accompanied by fresh vegetables and polenta. The wine list is small, but well rounded. Greut sparking wine and Silvestrini Syrah were great.
