Lovely clean, sandy beach, breaking surf and scenery. We only had time to walk onto the beach late afternoon but we would have loved to have had a day on this beach. Nice walk down past some really high class shops.

It's nice, it's covered with gawking tourists looking at.....the sand, the water and eachother, it's a beach. Maybe we're spoilt for beaches in Australia because at the time I was prepared to be blown away but I was like Meh. Sorry, Carmel!

I have been coming to the Big Sur area for 20 years, and have to say that this place now disappoints. Yes, the views are superb, and the parking alongside the road is easy. Beach access is also easy. But why oh why doesn't someone clean up the beach and get rid of the bits of charcoal left over from the BBQs others have had on the beach? It spoils the place, and with all the kelp out to see, when it lands on the beach it attracts a million flies. I won't go back ever again. This place has lost its magic for me. Such a shame. A gem has been lost to us. Yes, still very pretty and others won't agree. I am writing from personal experience of visits over many years.

A long white sandy beach, looks very nice; it was too cold for swimming and one has to wonder in what season there is no kelp in water.
A couple dolphins appeared just ten metres from the beach and even seals can be seen. Really cool.
The drive along the beach is very nice, some really very picturesque summer houses (Hobbit style).
