“Loved the Tickle Pink Inn!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2008

This was our second stay at the Tickle Pink Inn and it was better than ever! I wanted somewhere very quiet and secluded for my birthday celebration and the Carmel Highland's area fit the bill perfectly. I booked a room for one night on a weekend which was very gracious of the hotel since they have a 2 night minimum stay on weekends, I was thrilled to get in here!

I booked a room without a balcony for $60 less than the regular rooms, after check-in which went very smoothly, we were shown to Room 27, a parking lot level room. There is a small sitting area, 2 TV's, a very nice bed and gorgeous, full oceanviews with Yankee point to the left and Pt. Lobos to the right. We loved our room, the new Pacific Dreams bedding was wonderful. I enjoyed my new book I received from my daughter for my birthday "Audition" by Barbara Walters while relaxing on the bed.

Shortly after arrival, a knock on the door brought a bucket of Chilled Champagne and Truffles for us. Very nice touch, along with a red rose. We went down to the Terrace Room for the wine and cheese reception which is very lovely, you can sit in the oceanview outdoor room or the lounge which had warm fire glowing and lots of beautiful, fresh flowers. We were very relaxed, soft music is playing at the wine and cheese reception, also.

We dressed for dinner and walked over to the Pacific's Edge for dinner, afterwards we enjoyed the hot tub which is located in a beautiful area of the property with lots of greenery and flowers. We slept like babies and then went to the Breakfast buffet which consisted of ham, Spinach Frittata,, lots of fresh fruit, coffee, freshly baked pasteries and fresh squeezed OJ and assorted juices.

After breakfast we went down for another soak in the hot tub and took in the beautiful views of the coastline. There are also soft, cozy robes in the rooms that we were to the hot tub. More reading and relaxing, a hot bath in our room and we were refreshed and ready to meet the kids in Monterey for lunch, an afternoon of kayaking in Monterey Bay and dinner at the Sardine Factory.

Tickle Pink Inn was just what I was looking for in a romantic birthday trip and we will definitely return again here, we vowed to make it at least 2 nights next time. Thank you Tickle Pink Inn for all that you offer to those visiting this beautiful area of the CA coast. :)

We chose the Tickle Pink based upon reviews from Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. The view from the rooms shown on the property's website sold us and it was everything it was cracked up to be. The staff was extremely helpful and congenial. The breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese really set this apart from the rest. One word of caution should you be using a rental car GPS to guide you - don't turn on Fern Canyon when arriving on Hwy 1 from the north. Go a few hundred yards further and turn left at the Highlands sign. It's a scary ride if you follow the average GPS unit!

My husband and I stayed here a couple nights on our honeymoon. After a long day of traveling we were hoping to get in our room and relax. Not only were we greeted poorly by the staff we entered our room only to discover construction was being done directly above our room. It was very difficult to relax and enjoy the outstanding view from the balcony. After a half hour of hammers/power drills sounding, my husband spoke with the woman at the front desk to see if there was another comparable room to move to. She said they were booked and did not even apologize for the inconvenience. Overall our room was clean (pillows stunk), the bathroom was nice, and the view was great, but I think there would be a better place to stay.

This place is a gem. Exceptionally well run hotel with magnificent views, clean well appointed rooms,( but not overly gaudy), relaxed atmosphere and nice people. Great breakfast and afternoon repast on porch overlooking ocean. Wonderful place.

My girlfriend and I stayed her for two nights. We stayed in room 30 the1st night and 25 the second. I would definitely recommend 30. It has a hot tub next to your king bed in your room. It was very romantic. They really go all the way to make your stay comfortable. They even have a full selection of menus to look through, for various restaurants in town, near the front desk. Most of all, the view is amazing and you really feel like you are away from everything. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at.

My Husband and I drove from SF to SD and stayed over at the Tickle Pink. We booked the room called the crow’s nest. What a dream the view was wonderful, the room a Cape Code cottage. This place was a perfect get away. Any couple looking for the quite beauty of the cost nestled in the hills will fall in love. FYI ignore your GPS and go an extra .5 mile down Highway 1, to avoid being lost in the hills.

We just returned from our first stay at the Tickle Pink and it's safe to say the inn lives up to it's name in every way, it's spectacular! We planned a 2 night stay there which we stretched out to 4 nights because the inn and Carmel / Monterey / Big Sur area are so wonderful! We had 3 rooms during our stay (our original room was booked the following nights and it's so wonderful there that we were more than happy to switch rooms the last 2 nights). We had the pleasure of staying in 2 of their ocean view rooms and 1 night in one of the suites. Wow. The views on all the rooms are absolutely outstanding.

The staff at the inn are equally amazing, giving great advice, recommendations and making reservations for dinner for us.

Be sure to go to the wine / cheese reception (nightly) for some great views, wine, cheese and comradery with other guests (or enjoy it all back at your patio with that special someone. The free breakfast is great as well. There is a heated patio that you can over look the waves crashing on the rocks and drink your juice/coffee in the am. Yogurt/cereal/muffins/turnovers/oatmeal ect.. Also, they have current and classic dvds which you can check out for free. The location was great because it was far enough away but close enough to run out 5miles and get any kind of food or hit the mall for anything you left at home. Close to Aquarium, state parks for hiking, pebble beach, and amazing pizza at "Pizza my heart".

All in all, we recommend this inn highly. Our next stay will be a when, not an if and we can only hope that it will be sooner than later.

  • Liked — The views are to die for/ also the bed and linens were high quality.
  • Disliked — Tight parking in compact spaces (we drive big truck)
