“Room 3”

We just stayed in this room and found it met all needs. We didn't want a tv and the only tv is in fact in the lounge and we only saw it on 1 time when a couple were watching for a bit. The house exceeded our expectation and the staff were really helpful and friendly- could not have been better. Breakfast was simple and well presented- organic granola/ yoghurts/ coffee/ juice/ yes and quiche. You had access to coffees and bottled water from the fridge and general use of the kitchen. There was coffees and biscuits laid on from 5-7pm at weekends. Plenty of parking, and probably the best location in Carmel. 30 seconds walk from the amazing beach front. Thoroughly value for money. We drove past many other hotels, b&b's and inns whilst in Carmel that we tried to book before the sandpiper ( all were booked over memorial weekend) we were glad they were.

We stayed 2 nights while in the Carmel area and quite frankly we were looking forward to a great experience at this B & B. We were assigned room # 3 and it was clean and functional. but rather pedestrian. The view from our window was the fence in between houses, it was small and not very well appointed...There was no TV and you could hear everything from other rooms and floors. The breakfast the next morning was disappointing as it seemed to be warmed up in the microwave for the guests. It was a quiche and they had self-serve coffee, juices, fruit and yogurt.
The facility was in average condition as in our view it needs some upgrading and updating to justify the cost at $165.00 per night...WIFI was very weak in our room and turned out to be useless...over-all it was quite disappointing in our view...

We stayed here for four nights in late March in room 11. Very quiet and charming little inn. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Really comfortable bed. We'd happily stay here again. Love the grounds! Short little stroll to the beach but you do have to drive into town -- unless you like hiking in the dark. In March it was surprisingly easy to find parking so no big deal. The only thing holding back on an excellent review is the difficulty in maintaining a wifi connection (at least in room 11). If you hold your laptop in just the right place you'll get a fair signal so it is not a show-stopper but can be fustrating.

My wife, daughter, and I stayed for 3 nights in room #16 (king bed + double). It met our needs perfectly! The property was built as an inn in the 1920s. The main great-room space and all of the guest rooms have been updated within the past few years. WiFi is available throughout, but no televisions (yea!). Our 14 year old daughter loved reading books, playing checkers, scrabble, or other games in the great room in front of the gas-fired fireplace. Breakfast selections were perfect for all of us.

My wife and I stayed one night here as part of a drive up the California coast. The Inn was located amongst neighborhood housing. It was very relazing. It was located two short blocks from the beach. We heard the waves by leaving the window open at night. The breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and clean. It was nice that the gas fireplace came on at the flip of a switch.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay. They were not full for the weekend and I had called the prior Thursday morning, so they waived the two night minimum.

The room was simple, elegant and inviting. Everything was clean and in good repair. The staff was warm and helpful. The breakfast was nice: fresh fruit, quiche, yogurt, and granola. They serve afternoon tea also. I regret not sitting out by the fire pit. It looked inviting, but we got back from dinner too late for further entertainment.

The best part is the location. They are a block from the beach; walk down the stairs and you find yourself on the south end. Walk a mile along the beach and you find yourself on the north end and blocks from downtown.

I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had room 17, a corner room. It was very peaceful there.

I was lucky to be able to book a room at the Sandpiper. It was Valentines weekend and I surprised that there was an availability albeit only for one night. The facility was very inviting from the moment we walked in the front door. Our room #4 was the perfect size a queen bed with a sitting area next to a gas fireplace. Even though it was a rare 75 degrees in February we still enjoyed the fire at night for the ambiance. My wife was pleasantly surprised with this place and we intend to come back and spend a couple of days. The sound of the waves crashing in the background put us into a deep and relaxing sleep.
The breakfast was absolutely great? What a way to start a day...

Room Tip: Corner rooms seem to be quiter and have more privacy.
