A nice surprise. I did little investigating before staying here. I'm usually more thorough in my research but everything seemed to be occupied the weekend of the Pebble Beach Classic Car week so I went with it mostly because it was available. It was a lovely surprise to arrive somewhere comfortable, convenient and clean. A parking pass was provided which was fortunate as the Car Show seemed to have filled up the town beyond capacity and parking was hard to come by. The room was clean and everything was conveniently placed. The decor was homey and inviting. The placement of the rooms surrounding a garden was lovely. It felt almost um... smurfy. I loved it. Would go back in an instant. Dawn the innkeeper provided us with a lovely breakfast served at our door in the morning. A relaxing end to our journey.

Happy Landing is a most appropriate name as we stumbled upon this B&B by accident on our vacation from Ireland. The landlady is a very nice person, the signal for a lovely breakfast to be delivered to the room is opened blinds and adds to the romance of the place. Authentic antique decoration combined with Hansel and Gretel type architecture and great value make this place a must visit for anyone doing the pacific coast highway who is looking for a unique experience. We stayed 2 nights instead of the attended one and was well worth it.

Happy companions too! This is a charming, quiet, Carmel cottage B&B and we would have been happy just to stay in and enjoy our room. So close to everything and yet it feels separate. Loved the antiques. Dawn was very personable and helpful, and our little pooch was welcome and enjoyed Happy Landing too! We already booked our room for next year!

Room Tip: Room 2 is charming but has limited shower space.

We found this great little place through petfriendly.com and we can't wait to get back to stay again. We absolutely loved it and will be going back as soon as we can. The hostess is the sweetest innkeeper I have met in a long time. Her dog was absolutely charming and ever so good about my Dane puppy getting in his face as he learned company manners. The bed was so comfy and the room so sweet. We chose the smallest room and it was still so comfy. Breakfast was delicious and the signal to have it delivered so quaint. I wish we had been staying a few days longer because I would have loved to linger longer in the bed and in the atmosphere.

Room Tip: Follow the guidelines on the website for which rooms are the dog rooms. We had a Great Dane puppy in...

My husband and I were looking for a pet friendly hotel (or bed and breakfast) within walking distance of the shops and the beach in Carmel. It had to be pet friendly since we travel with a large golden retriever. Imagine our surprise when we found this lovely storybook cottage bed and breakfast with a perfect location. The rooms are charming, built in the 20's and furnished with antiques. Your hostess, Dawn, serves a delicious breakfast of quiche, muffins, fruit, juice and coffee or other hot beverage when you raise your window shade in the morning. Lady Emma was made to feel welcome and even recieved a cookie on the breakfast tray. Dawn is also very good about recommending restaurants and places to see. Our stay in the village of Carmel was only enhanced by our stay at Happy Landing and if we are lucky enough to return to Carmel we will certainly stay there.

i needed to get away from the bustle and heat of LA so I put the dog in the car and drove up the coast to Carmel. Very cute Inn and pleasant manager. Rooms were quaint, clean, and pet friendly. Easy walk downhill to the beach. Also easy access to restaurants and retail. Quiet, peaceful. Breakfast was timely, hot and delicious. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great - as close to perfect as it gets.
Charming, nice gas fireplace with comfy chairs right close.
Bed was perfect.
Everything clean and fresh.
Cute old antique decor and furnishings - marble top tables.
Free DVD library. Free WiF..
Dawn is as gracious an owner/manager as you could wish for.
Breakfast was surprisingly good - hot quiche, muffin, fresh fruit, coffee/tea, orange juice and delivered to your door when you "put up the shade"
We stayed in one of the "no pet" rooms, so super-clean.
When I choose a place, I read the best and the worst reviews. I found none of the "flaws" which the bad reviewers complained about. It was spacious enough, loved the food, bath has shower which is all we ever use anyway.
Happy Landing was about $20 cheaper than comparable moderately priced rooms in Carmel where we have stayed, and I would say about 20% nicer/better stay overall.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Unless you bring a pet, ask for the "pet free" rooms.
