This property is in a transition, heading in the right direction. The room we stayed in was very comfortable - the bed was great - but it was a bit outdated. If you are tall, the shower head will be well below your head! The evening wine and cheese and the breakfast were very well done. The staff is very accommodating and will do their best to make you feel at home.

Thank you so much for the review and your candid description of the shower head (among other items) that so need to be improved. As you recall, we purchased the Inn March 25 this year and focused on our dining room kitchen and gardens, The rooms (including moving the shower heads) should get under way late this fall. Thank you for staying with us and again for your review. Julian

Just an hour after checking in to the Carmel Garden Inn we were greeted by a very friendly hummingbird.
Carmel Garden Inn also has the friendliest innkeepers, a nice quiet setting, with comfortable, quaint and rustic décor complimented by some high-tech Wi-Fi too.
Meeting the many interesting local and international guests for Wine & Cheese and breakfasts was one of the absolute highlights in the cozy little brunch area .
We picked up a lot of great advice on attractions, culture, theatre, and events from all the guests.
The king beds (very high end by the way) pampered us every night - (we slept like rocks - really ).
Hats off to Julian, Susan, Dennis and Mary for a stay that will definitely have us coming back.
Sincerely,
Tom & Karen

This is a lovely property -- newly remodeled and reopened by former owners who have a real love and passion for not only their Inn but also the area. Julian, Dennis, Susan and Mary were nothing but gracious, friendly and helpful in everyway. From the welcoming note in our room when we arrived to our final goodbye, they couldn't do enough for us as we also learned about the places to see, where to eat and the history of those places and the town. The rooms have a kitchenette area, fireplaces and private patios, all which give you a truely homey feel. The Innkeepers host a nice wine and appetizer event each afternoon and breakfast is also included. (and you won't find a better homemade granola anywhere.) This was our first time to the area but we hope to return and I know where we will be staying. Thanks to each of the Carmel Garden Inn staff for a memorable stay. Layton and Carolyn J.

Room Tip: Choose average for value as it was about what we would have expected to pay compared wtih other B&am...

Thank you so very much for your review. It gives us a lot to live up to and continue the happy efforts. It has been said the greatest reward is to give and be appreciated. Thanks for that appreciation. Julian and all of us here at the Inn.

Fabulous place to stay. Cozy rooms with fireplace and private patios. Everything we needed including wine & cheeses in the evening, breakfast, and a friendly staff to help guide your visit. Julian and staff are welcoming and very informative about the area.

We have been to this place about 6 times before and the last time we stayed in February, it was
going through a change in ownership. Well, we just returned last Saturday and came back again
on Wednesday for 2 more nights. Dennis, Susan and Julian are the new owners and they strive to please. The gardens are even prettier. There's a new kitchen where the check in area was located with fresh baked scones, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola for breakfast. We were treated to a lovely egg dish that was very tasty. Not only that, when Susan heard that I preferred unsweetened yogurt, she went out and purchased Nancy's organic yogurt! All of these gracious owners go the extra mile to create a very comfortable, memorable stay for all their guests and their fur babies. So if you you are looking for a quaint, very clean accommodation in Carmel with the comforts of home and great personal service, this is it! Our
favorite room now has a comfy, luxurious new king bed which we loved, but I am keeping my favorite room our little secret. With these new owners, I think there will be even more upgrades!

We had a wonderful stay at the Carmel Garden Inn with our two Westies. It is a perfect place to take dogs especially in the rooms with outdoor patios. The new owners (as of April 2013) were very helpful, even providing an extra dog bed. It is great to stay at a place where the owners are optimistic and cheerful. They have ambitious plans for renovations, but the rooms are charming even as is. They are spacious with eat-in kitchenettes and each has a wood-burning fireplace Their high speed WiFi was great as you can watch streaming movies and access the internet from anywhere in the room, gardens or restaurant. The terraced garden and patio containers are floriferous! Room prices are reasonable, particularly for Carmel. We look forward to staying there on our next trip to Carmel.

Room Tip: The rooms with outdoor patios are like your own little home
