“Amazing history”
Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful ocean view with amazing architectural interest and historical background as well. We were fortunate to find a poetry reading event at Tor House. Cute museum, kind docents and very interesting place. Call ahead to check hours open. Truly a GEM in Carmel.

“I Didn't Think Carmel-by-the-Sea Could Get Better!!”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

We have vacationed in Carmel for over 40 years and always loved every minute of it. But, we discovered the Tor House and Hawk Tower Tour and it made our last visit to Carmel magical. The tour was far beyond what we envisioned. Our docent was incredible placing us in the building of the structures, letting us into the personal lives of the Jeffers family and friends, and the events of the community through the years. Don't miss this tour with that wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean.

“Best Architecture Tour in Carmel”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Carmel is already an architect's delight - with the precious Hansel and Gretel-style cottages polka dotting the neighborhoods - Mission style manses and mini-modern-dazzling homes...However,
the most interesting house and garden tour is Tor House. The 90-minute walking tour is a fascinating historical perspective of Carmel, the Jeffers family and poetry, landscape...Note: Book early.
And yes, Tor House, and the stone buildings making up the petite compound, is probably the only house tour in Carmel
