We visited this estate a few years ago while on a road trip from San Diego to Carmel and this was a great place to stop and try some great wine! Recommend. The people who work here were very helpful and friendly!

We started and ended our wine tour here at Chateau Julien~Shawn was great! We bought 2 cases of wine and they are shipping them to us in Texas. The wine tasting was fantastic! The grounds are so pretty and well cared for. We will be back in the future. Thank you Shawn!!

“Elegant Vineyard in Carmel Valley”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

Chateau Julien is right off the main road through Carmel Valley. I've been there for a few special events (you can rent it for parties and such), and I believe there are tours and tastings as regular things. The wine is reliably good.

missing the good Los Olivos or Nappa Valley Whinery feeling in the inside. But the whine was very very good - so go have a look!

“Where to Picnic and Wine Taste in Carmel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

It was our first trip to the Carmel Valley wine region and by consulting some guides, picked this winery for our picnic. A great choice (most tasting rooms as just that - rooms off a strip mall). This is a recreated castle with friendly staff offering a variety of interesting tastings. We found a great bottle for our lunch and went outside to enjoy the hour. Our tasting room person came out and brought us glasses and a bottle of water and offered napkins and other amenities. She also adjusted the umbrella to give us more shade. Where does that happen? It was just another validation that we had picked the right place to stop. Give it a try and don't miss their accessory sales - they have those elusive plates that hook onto wine glasses for easier tasting/snacking. Very picturesque and delightful.
