So I got to La Costa about 3 hours ago, and so far it's good. The only things I have found that are ridiculous are the Internet and the Prices. First, the internet. So when you get to your room (If you're like me), you get your laptop and check for an internet connection. Note don't bother using the Wifi, it's WAAAAAAY too slow. Anyways, you get 24 hours of internet free, then you have to pay $15 BUCKS FOR ANOTHER DAY!!!!!!!!!! It's ridiculous that a hotel (such as best Western) has free high speed WiFi for 1/5 of the price. Next is the Prices. $9 for and 8 oz. Smoothie!!!!! Strawberries, sugar and milk!!!!!!!!! Other than that, the pool and water slides are AMAZING! Plus, there was a hot tub right outside my room in the middle of the garden. The rooms are also pretty cozy, but not too roomy. Overall, I would recommend this place as a peaceful, relaxing vacation just outside san diego. By the way, there are really picturesque surroundings and good views from outside.

We stayed at the La Costa Resort over the fourth of July weekend. I was very impressed with the Resort. The service was amazing! All the employees were super friendly and attentive. The kids had a really fun time on the water slides, with one child being 2 years old and the other eleven, that is hard to find. They also loved the crafts and smores. But most of all they loved the fireworks! They do a great job. Our room was great with a wonderful patio and grass area in back for the little one to run. Between the wonderful food, service, and activities, I would reccomend La Costa to everyone!!!!

Dear CoreyLindsay: We are glad that you could join us for the Fourth of July weekend. Thanks for your comments about the fireworks show. We're already planning next year's show, so hoping you make La Costa part of your summer holiday tradition!

The friendly and helpful staff is wonderful. $25 each time you and your spouse play on the tennis court, ridiculous. Drinks, coffee and food: very expensive. Could not get cold water in the room, it was either hot or scalding.

We checked in for our 17th wedding anniversary and were greeted with poor signage (making in hard to find our room) and a room key that wouldn't work. No big deal- we called the front desk but then had to wait outside our room for 20 minutes before help came. Once in, we were greeted with a non-renovated room with a musty smell that Adam at the front desk then told us "some guests had complained about in the past, but didn't bother him." Well Adam wasn't paying for the room of course, we were. When we asked to change rooms we were told only more expensive rooms were available and we would need to pay for an upgrade. That was it- we called The Park Hyatt next door- moved and couldn't be happier. At the Park Hyatt the staff was gracious and pleasant, plus the room was lovely and yes, smelled good! Avoid La Costa at all costs!

We were looking for an affordable family vacation that would include some relaxing, luxury accomodations and fun family events. We had known about La Costa Resort for years, but had never been there.

When we saw that they had some special deals we decided to give it a try. We were absolutely blown away with the Resort amenities. The golf and tennis were fantastic. Since they had a package that included breakfast, golf and tennis we did not feel stressed about paying resort fees everytime we wanted to play. The pool was great too.

An added benefit was that the weather was perfect. Because the Resort is not direclty on the ocean, we did not have a cold marine layer. Rather, it was sunny and warm.

We will be vacationing at La Costa again in 2010. We have 3 children (15, 12 and 10).

We celebrated my son's birthday there and had a fantastic weekend. The staff was gracious, our rooms were great and we just LOVED to the pool and our cabana. Their SPA was first rate and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with children. It's the ultimate family resort!

Only stayed for the one night but plan on staying again next month for 3 nights. Love the friendly service at the front desk, the grounds are great for walking, didn't get a chance to check out any of the shops but will do so on my next trip there. I plan to play golf and for my wife to have a massage, will write back after 7/12 to let you know how it all goes.
