Had just arrived with my family in Carlsbad and walked over to the nearby place. It had a very strong Spanish/Mexican style atmosphere with a lot of outside seating. A fountain and raised fire pits for warmth added to the outside atmosphere. We opted for inside seating since we were a larger group. Service was ok and we all thought the various salads, enchiladas, and other items were very good. The only disappointment was the so-called salsa that accompanied the chips. Salsa it was not. Spicy tomato juice might be more descriptive. Also, the ambience inside the restaurant was the opposite that of the quiet, more romantic outside dining. Inside it was very noisy and you had to make an effort to carry on a conversation.
