On a trip to Carlsbad recently I had the pleasure of dining at Vigilucci's Cucina. Best Italian food I have eaten in a long time. Waiter was very friendly and sharp. Restaurant was busy but service was top notch and quick. I've eaten out a lot over the years and Vigilucci's is close to the top of my list of best places to dine.

My companion loves the salads here. I always get the Lasagna which I think is terrific. Atmosphere, servers and cleanliness make this a great stop on the way to San Diego.

A lovely little restaurant in Carlsbad Village. What i was really impressed with was that they also served all the pasta choices as wheat free options as well - the first time that i have eaten pasta out in a restaurant for about 10 years! amazing!!

We have had two lunches there in the past four months and both timeswe were impressed with the food, service and ambiance. Portions are substantial, the wine list extensive and the service couldn't be better. Outside seating on a quiet street makes dining very enjoyable. They happily take dogs and will cater to them with water and whatever you may need. Their pasta is great...the seafood special with vodka was to die for. Chicken caesar salad was fresh and more chicken than served at most places. Excellent and extensive wine list with many reasonablly priced selections; many wine by the glass options. Service could not have been more friendly or attentive. Prices reasonable to expensive but really worth it. Would go there whenever or travels take us to the area. Inside looks cozy and inviting. You'll be happy you went there!

The outdoor seating is nice, although the constant buzzing of flies around the food made it annoying. The service was efficient, but a bit too quick -- racing you through the meal. There was virtually no time to breathe between courses, which came out rapidly. Taking away plates from one dinner while the other is still eating just should not be done. Wine list showcased local wines, but was not extensive. The food was artfully presented, including a very nice eggplant wrap around grilled fresh vegetables. The soup of the day (butternut squash) was thin to watery, and alas, the "gorgonzola" cheese toast had so little cheese, I wondered if it was just forgotten. The steak was quite chewy (wife's dish not mine), but was accompanied by a nice peppercorn sauce. The creme brule was touched with a hint of orange and was a nice finish.
