“My kids are already asking to go back!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014

We celebrated my son's 5th birthday here last week and had a wonderful time. The rooms and public facilities were impressively clean, and we really appreciated all the little thoughtful details (e.g. a second, lower peephole on the door for the kids; the little wooden stool in the bathroom for the little ones to more easily reach the sink). Some tips/advice:
- Do take the time to do the scavenger hunt to get the code to open the safe in the room that contain "treasure" (Lego figures and magazines; ours was actually empty but that was quickly remedied).
- Remember that hotel guests can enter the park earlier (a much smoother, less hectic process than Disneyland, by the way) but only certain rides are running so make sure you check the flier they hand you at check-in.
- Park/hotel employees often have Lego figures on their name tags that you can ask to trade. A friend who had been to the park before gave us a heads-up so we came prepared with extra figures from home. My son was shy at first but soon couldn't get enough of these transactions once he realized that he could upgrade his farmer to a pirate captain, for example.
- There are three types of themed rooms: Kingdom, Adventure, and Pirate. Each floor hosts a different theme (e.g. we were in the Kingdom room on the first floor) so if you have a preference on which floor you want to stay in, make sure you choose appropriately.
- Even if you're on the first floor, make sure to ride the elevator at least once. As soon as the door closes, the disco ball is illuminated and the music changes to a more lively tune. The kids automatically broke into a dance and had a great time.

We stayed at the Legoland Hotel last weekend. The hotel is very impressive for the kids. Lego creations are everywhere. My children were given a scavenger hunt to complete upon arrival. they were to answer questions on the hunt to get the code to the treasure chest in our room. They thought this was really fun! Inside were lego minifigures and a lego magazine. There was a full schedule of children's activities for all ages throughout the evening. We only participated in one of the events but the kids thought it was fun and they included all children in the games. The play area in the lobby is amazing and it was nice to sit in the lounge and have a glass of wine while the kids played just feet away in the castle/boat playarea. We stayed in a deluxe pirate room. The beds were comfortable. The kids part of the room had bunk beds and their own TV which excited the kids. We did go to the pool which was heated and outdoors. It had a nice wading area for the younger children too. We were blown away by the experience. They also have us early entry to the park which was nice. We ate at the Bricks restaurant. The kids liked it. The food was ok, buffet style, but not amazing. It was very convenient for the kids.

Room Tip: We loved the deluxe pirate room.

Travelled from Hollywood on Amtrak business class train. Great trip. Expensive cab fare to Legoland Hotel from San Diego $110. Wow when we walked inside the boys were so e cited. This hotel fully caters for the kids and the adults have to fit in. The pool even has floating Lego to play with. The rooms are clean and de orated in themes. We had pirate theme on 2nd floor. The elevator is a disco. Buckets of Lego in foyer Nd entertainment and Lego building competitions nightly. Breakfast and dinner is buffet but they have another restaurant and a cafe. Very bright and colourful. Comfy beds. Worth the effort to get there. Would hope in future there would be some shuttle buses available as it is hard to get to u less you drive. Loved it. In the rooms the boys had bunks and their own television.

Room Tip: Ground floor would be noisy I'd imagine as the walls are quite thin withloads of loud kids

We loved our 2 night stay at the Legoland hotel! The hotel was decorated with tons of wonderful Legos and the theme rooms were fun for everyone. There are 3 floors and each floor had its own theme. We stayed in a permium room decorated in the kingdom theme (first floor). I honestly don't know if it was worth the extra money for the premium room. The rooms are the same size but has more decorations. My kids loved it so it was money well spent. Best part of the rooms was the layout. You first walk in and there is the kids area with a bunk and pull out trundle. Awesome! We have three kids and each had their own bed! Then a there is a queen bed in the adult area and bathroom in the middle. TV's in both sections. Sheets were nice. Bathroom was very clean and modern. Actually, bathroom looked new and I wondered if anyone ever used it before. Room was very clean as well. And quiet! There were 2 waters and 2 kids drinks left each day (free) and the kids got to open the "safe" and keep the couple small items inside (I think it was a Lego figure, magazine, and chocolate). The room had a box of Legos to play with and I was surprised this was a hit. You can't help want to build something when you are surrounded by such wonderful Lego art. The lobby had TONS of Lego to play with and they had a little competition/entertainment each night. Very popular with all kids. We ate at the restaurant one night and the kids buffet was good (pizza, pasta, hamburgers, hot dogs, self serve drinks and ice cream). We ate off the main menu and service was a little slow (kids were done eating and we still had not gotten our food) but when food did arrive it was very good. The convience to the park was the best part. Our kids are young (3,4, and 6) and it was nice to go back to the room and take an hour break in the middle of the day. Parking was included in the stay. Signage for the hotel could of been a bit better but we figured it out. Overall we loved it! Kids were happy and adults were happy! Would do it again!

They have thought of everything at this place! From the lobby to the elevators, to the room decor and amenities, this is just a fantastic hotel. Kids can run around and have fun, yet it's still comfortable and not too overwhelming or crowded for adults. Fun theme-decorated rooms with separate sleeping area for kids. Huge, warm pool open at night with a lifeguard on duty who's actually paying attention to the kids. Huge buffet with great choices for kids and adults (including serve-yourself soft-serve ice cream -- yum!) Professional, attentive staff everywhere you turn.
One of the best features is how close the hotel is to the park entrance -- you really can run back to your room anytime you need. Plus, hotel guests get great parking spots very close to the park.
If you're going to Legoland, I highly recommend spending the extra $ for the hotel experience, it will make it a very memorable vacation.

Being a huge Lego fan as a child I couldn't believe it when I came across a hotel completely dedicated to all things Lego.

As we live in Australia we only really had the photos to go by, and upon arrival we were not disappointed!

The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we stepped out of the car and we were made to feel as though we were 'home'

My husband, three children and I were completely in awe of how visually appealing the place is, from the mini Lego people in the lobby, Lego pits, wall paper, Lego statues and of course the whoopie cushion built into the floor we thought we'd seen it all.. Then we stepped into the disco elevator and boogied up and down a few times before going on a treasure hunt to unlock the safe in our room!

I made a video tour of our room to show everyone at home in Oz because there is nothing here that even comes close to the spectacular detail that goes into the rooms! Even my 16 year old son sat and played with the in room Lego with his two sisters (8,10) we had to drag them out of the room at dinner time!

The buffet was superb and even my fussiest child managed to find quite a selection of food.

The entertainment in the pirate ship area was highly amusing to observe and it was good to see my three bonding over their Lego creations! Even us parents got into the Lego pit.. To help the kids of course :p

I seriously have only just scratched the surface at how awesome this place is but better leave something for people to check out themselves!

I can't wait to come back and stay
again!!

We took our grand children to Legoland in Carlsbad and decided to try out the new hotel. We loved it! Not a place to stay if you do not have children with you but fantastic if you have kids. The whole hotel is designed for children with Legos everywhere. The rooms are all themed and have a special sleeping area with bunk beds and trundle beds for children. The hotel offers food services and a buffet with a special area for children. All their favorite foods with their own serving area.
