“only worth it in the spring”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

March, and april are THE months when the flower fields are ablaze with color. It is worth a trip to Carlsbad to see the riot of color, and Do Take Your Camera! Afterwards stop by the Outlet center for a little retail therapy or a quick bite to eat. I

“great for mom on mothers day”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

you wont believe what you will see. the flower fields are just off interstate 5. people come from all over the world to see the flowers when they are in bloom. they have a tractor ride that will take you all around the fields. this is a good way to see it if you are disabled or just want to ride in a wagon pulled by a tractor. they have a few meal options. it is not over priced. don't forget to get a basket of strawberries when you leave. this is a must.

“Beauty”

The flowers were in full bloom until right after Mother's Day when they mowed them down. I wish they kept them around a little longer.

“Beautiful experience”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

What an eye catching experience. The many colored ranunculuses are a wonder to behold. Rows and rows of the many colored flowers. One of my favorite due to the great variety of colors and beauty. You can walk the fields, ride the tram and also walk from the top. The special gardens are also beautifully done. You can buy bulbs if you want to grow your own and I have. Mine come up on their own every year and even reseed.

“Over rated, and you can get it for free: so why pay?”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

The flower fields are best viewed from a distance. If you go into the field, what you are is row after row of flowers. Not that that's bad, but this us a case of where the whole is more than the sum of the parts. If you look at the fields from across the street, or from the area above the fields, like the walkway above the fields, where the Hilton Resort is, and Karl Strauss Restaurant is, you see the fields as one unit, which is much prettier and impressive tan being in the fields.
