“if you love golf you have to try this course.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

This course near Carlsbad California is one of the nicest I have ever played. The use of natural vegetation is spectacular. I couldn't say which hole would be the signature there were so many beautiful holes. Stunning vistas and great elevation changes throughout the course. Carts are a must!

“A MUST play golf course”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2013

I've played hundreds of golf courses throughout the US and I would have to say that Arnold Palmer did an amazing job on the golf course. The views and landscaping is spectacular and the golf course was in great condition with lots of rolling hill fairways.

“Too expensive to return”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

This is a challenging golf course but it is too expensive to get to know well. The prices have gotten to the point where none of us play there since there are so many good choices in the area. Nothing bad to say about it, but it is an average resort style golf course that is much to expensive for what it is. They nick the visitors, but not the locals.

“Overrated and Overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

I had a day to myself whilst staying in San Diego and through reports visited Aviara early December. Very nice welcome by the staff, and paid my green fee, which was a little on the steep side, and also rental clubs which @ $75 were pricey. As it transpired rental clubs were really poor, considering Carlsbad is the vicinity of so many Golf Club manufacturers you would have thought more effort would have been made. No head covers, scratched and poorly maintained. To put this into perspective at Dubai Creek they provide a complete set of pristine Ping G10 Clubs, matching bag etc, for less money. Aviara please take note!!
The course itself was patchy and again I have been fortunate enough to play better courses for half the price.
Overall my experience was really disappointing. For this sort of money you expect a great deal more and I am afraid the Aviara experience is not one I will cherish or repeat...ever. Wish now I had gone to Torrey Pines.

“Beautiful golf course.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

Went to Aviara for a long weekend recently and played the golf course. The course is beautifully maintained and was challenging to play with lovely vistas throughout the course. We had a buffet breakfast in the clubhouse before we played which was good too. I would definitely play the course again if I am in the area.
