“Great for younger kids”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2013

Went there over Christmas break 2012. The park was designed for younger kids (3-10 y.o.) in mind, so the selection of extreme/thrill rides is limited. Everyone had a great time. it wasn't fine tuned like a Disney property but still fun and activity packed. Some rides tended to be more low-tech than their Disney/Universal counterparts, almost like a mix of carnival and theme park attractions. Overall, the price was reasonable (found 2 for 1 park hopper coupons) and from talking to families on our plane ride home, a lot less crowded than Disneyland during the same time frame. Do look for deals and coupons from local fast food chains or Lego stores. They can save 30-40% off your admission.

“Great place to spend an entire day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

We visited Legoland in October 2010 with a 2-1/2 year old and 5-week old. There was a section of the park for younger kids so my oldest son got to ride some rides in that section. There were a few where he got to ride with an adult. He had a blast. I would recommend taking the kids when they're a tad bit older, though, just so they can get the full experience.

The mini-towns area was great. Lots of detail and work went into each setting. You need to see this part of the park for sure!

I would also recommend visiting closer to summer. Even though it is San Diego, it was only about 65 degrees all week and it felt cooler there than 65 degrees in Illinois would. So we weren't able to do most of the water attractions.

“Best amusement park for kids under 10”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

This park is less crowded and more fun for younger kids. Many of the lines have Lego play areas for the kids while the parents wait. My son loved the Xbox Lego gaming room and my daughter liked the minature Legoscapes. Make time to take them to the giant playground. It's a great way to tire them out before heading out of the park.

“Great for Boys under 10”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

This was our second visit with our now 8 year old son and this is probably around the age when the boys out grow the park/rides - especially if they like the 'big' disney style ride. We went on a Friday and Sunday and the Friday was very quiet with very short waits for rides, the Sunday was much much busier. Parking is easy ($12) and there is a drop off zone if you don't want to park. Park is looking a little 'tired', this is more obvious in the 'mini-land' where the models could do with a little clean and perhaps a paint touch up. Had a nice american style meal at the 'sports' style restaurant and for what you get reasonable value for money given it is inside the park. The 'Big Shop' is always a hit and some things are not available in your standard Lego shop. Received the second day free and was a bonus for my son and if our first day had have been busy with long wait times, would have been necessary given the reduced 'winter' operating hours.
