“Always a treat...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

Whether a special occasion or just a night out this is a great place to go.
Always best to make a reservation and dress attire is up to you...casual or dressed up fits right in.

Food and service always consistent. Great lobster and fillet mignon. Extensive menu.

Great part of the restaurant is its location. You can walk down to the restaurant through the beautiful landscaped gardens or take the old fashioned tram down at a leisurely pace.

I recommend getting there early to have a drink prior to your seating time or and after dinner drink in the bar area.

“Great Place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

This place is so beautiful it took almost 45 minutes of rubbernecking before we even asked to be seated for lunch! The gardens alone are well worth the trip. And there are so many varied seating areas, inside and out, it's difficult to choose. Each room has a different ambience but all are comfortable and cozy. It's also a nice place for families with children. It's an ideal setting for a romantic proposal, a wedding reception, anniversary, graduation feast, or a quiet, leisurely dinner to unwind after a long day's work. The less formal area unstairs is great for meeting friends, sharing pizza and beer or any of the other items on the varied menu.

The place is so popular reservations are a must. And you want to get there early; the parking lot fills up fast. The food was delicious, attractively - and promptly - served, and reasonably priced. The servers are cordial, informative, and patient (we couldn't make a decision from so many wonderful choices)! I usually don't have room for dessert but could not resist after seeing such decadent delights going to other diners.

It's more than worth it to take the scenic drive down the Coast (from the San Francisco area). You won't be dissapointed!!

“Been going here for years and years - still good!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

This little piece of heaven is not to be missed if you are in the Santa Cruz/Capitola area. Ambiance absolutely perfect, surrounded by lovely gardens and the Soquel river. Food is, for the most part, good solid fare. Nothing trendy or unusual. Good fresh seafood and beef items. Gnocchi not what it could have been but perhaps an off night with the chef. Fun bar, good service and decent wine list.

“Great everything, just go”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

This was a mother's day treat hosted by my sister. We were five people across three generations. The restaurant is just unique and comfortable and tasteful without being stuffy. The food was absolutely gorgeous and although I didn't pay, the prices were not at all too expensive. Their children's menu was also just right. Everyone had a great meal and a good time. I would go back in a heartbeat.

“Not just for special occasions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013

We like to go to the bar on Mondays for burger and beer night and Tuesdays happy hour two for one appetizers. Butternut squash flatbread and mongolian beef flatbread are amazing.
