“One of my favorite places”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Go to Gayles and get some lunch and then walk back down and sit on the beach. It's lovely. When the tide is low you can stroll all the way down to New Brighton beach and the cement boat. In the other direction you can to go the Wharf House and have lunch or just sit and watch the waves.

“Sunning at the Beach”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Being over 65, we found that having plenty of seating looking toward the ocean was very nice. It was also nice to be near many shops and even a coffee room. I should like to say that we ate at Zelda's and loved it. They are not listed and we don't know why.

“A Little Touch of the Mediterranean”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

Capitola Beach reminds me of many beach villages along the Med. The colorful rental apartment, the ice cream shop, the restaurants along the esplanade make me feel like I am along the Riviera.

“Quiet but Unique”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

If you like popular places this is not for you.
During low tide in the winter it is rather easy to walk south along this beach and see fossil impressions in the rising cliffs, not many people are aware of this.
