BOOKING 5*
We booked our accommodation directly. Starting with the original enquiry on a Sunday afternoon that received a response the same evening to the final agreement for renting three apartments over two weeks, we found the responses to be fast, courteous and all queries fully addressed.

LOCATION 4*
Bay of Kotor is stunning, with warm and calm sea and surrounded by mountains. The apartments are on a steep hill and very close to the water. However, a very busy and poorly controlled road separates the apartments from the private beaches. It is a major flaw in the design that meant our children had to be escorted multiple times per day. It is worth noting that this is the major reason why the entire review is four stars.

AMENITIES 5*
Apartments are self-catering. There is a small shop on site which caters for basic needs. For larger and more varied shopping supplies, there are a number of supermarkets and butcheries within a 10-minute drive.

The grounds are exquisitely maintained, all green areas regularly watered. Walking and stone areas by the beach cleaned daily.

There is also a very good restaurant on site. The variety and quality of food, together with excellent service, makes it a great value for money choice for dinners. Lunches in summer may be difficult due to very high temperatures (time better spent within easy reach of the sea).

The beach is close, clean and not too busy (restricted to apartment guests). It is neither sand nor pebble but a finely broken stone which isn't always pleasant on the feet, so suitable footwear will makes for a less embarrassing stride. There are no sea urchins.

The greatest amenity (so to speak) is the pristinely clear and warm water of the Kotor Bay. The two weeks in July had water temperatures between 27-28°C with only a single, 2-hour rain accompanied with wind strong enough to stir up the water to 20cm (1/2') waves. The rest of the holiday was clear skies, sunshine and heat.

ACCOMMODATION
Apartments are well-equipped, though it is worth checking which exact apartment is allocated as different owners may have different extras. E.g. of our three apartments, 2 had microwaves, all had dishwashers, 1 had a water fountain etc.

There is a 10-15% price difference from the standard 2-bedroom apartment to one with larger living area and a terrace. Money well spent in our opinion.

All rooms have air-conditioning units and are very comfortable. Shower room has a washing machine.

SERVICE 5*
Apartments are cleaned twice a week and you can agree on the time that suits you best.

All our requests and few minor complaints were dealt with immediately through the site office that is open throughout the day.

OVERALL
Apart from the very unsettling road crossing, we loved our holiday and will be booking another as soon as a footbridge or underpass are added to the development.

Room tip: Pay a bit extra for more comfortable 2-bedroom apartments. Those closer to the road make for shorter walks up the steep hill on hot days.

Spent two weeks in Villa Vujovic with friends and family (2 families with 2 children each), and had a fantastic time. The apartments are new and fairly well equipped, and have good wifi too. There is a little shop at the bottom of the apartment area, where you can get most things. There is also a restaurant within the complex which is excellent in terms of value for money, service and cuisine (in fact we all agreed that the food was as good as any of the more expensive restaurants that we visited over our stay within Kotor bay). The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

The beach areas are decent, and there is a little store at the beach where you can purchase drinks (in fact you can just charge them to your apartment). I understand that the beaches are being extended this year, which will be good in order to have more choice of where situate yourself.

My only concern with Villa Vujovic was the need to cross a busy road in order to access the beach. The driving in Montenegro in general is perhaps the worst I have ever come across, so it was out of the question that younger children can be trusted to go back and forth to the beach unescorted. The management of Villa Vujovic assure us that a bridge over the road is due to be built, which is something that would make a big difference to peace of mind for parents!

Overall I could recommend this place to anyone.

Room tip: Larger apartments have a much bigger terrace. Try to get an apartment lower down to reduce the steep walk up to your room!

We traveled as a group of 4 children and 8 adults to Vila Vujovic for 2 weeks, staying in 4 separate apartments. This review is based on the apartment we stayed in which consisted 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen and living room. The rooms are very comfortable with excellent air conditioning. The living room has a double pull out sofa bed. Kitchen is well equipped (no microwave - however, this is not needed with a 2 electrical plate and 2 gas plate cooker). There was a washing machine at our disposal in the apartment. Our balcony had wonderful views of Kotor Bay and as it was one row back from the main road, it was very quiet during the day and night. The apartment is supplied with linens and towels (both for the beach and for showering). Plenty of cupboard space and spotlessly clean.

ALL staff at Vila Vujovic were extremely helpful, friendly and polite. There were some minor issues with the apartment (Internet password didn't work and TV) which were resolved within hours. Cleaning staff work tirelessly to ensure that fresh towels and bed sheets are supplied as and when you need them.

The property has a private beach with loungers and parasols which you don't need to pay for (unlike some other beaches in the area). Getting to the beach is the only problem I have with Vila Vujovic (and the reason I have not rated it with top marks), the road you need to cross has very little space for pedestrians (at some places none at all) and although there are 3 zebra crossings, none of the motorists stop at these to allow pedestrians to cross. Children should be assisted crossing the road between the beach and the apartments as there is no adherence to speed limits on this road.

There is a small shop where you can get essential items and a bar on the beach to buy soft drinks, beers and ice cream.

The property is extremely pet friendly if you travel with animals.

The restaurant is excellent, wonderful, fresh seafood, friendly, efficient staff who go out of their way to allow you to enjoy the ambience.

We will hopefully return to Vila Vujovic and I cannot recommend it more.

Room tip: Rooms on the road are slightly noisier than those set further back on the property.

We had a big nice apartment with a view of the sea. The apartment had access to a nice beach, with free access to sunbeds. The staff was polite and very service minded. The only negative was that you had to pass a road to get to the beach, but I was not a major problem.

Today is our last day here, and we really don't want to leave! The apartment is fantastic and the views across the Bay of Kotor are just stunning. The apartment we are in has two bedrooms (one double, one single) and a living/dining area with a large pull out sofa bed. All three have individual air conditioners. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, half electric /half gas hob, fridge freezer, cutlery, crockery, mugs, tumblers, wine and tot glasses for six. The loo / shower room also has a washing machine.

There is no "reception" as such, but to the front of the "complex" there is a small restaurant (excellent food), a small general purpose shop for the essentials (milk, cheese, eggs, soft drinks, beer and (very essential) wine, and an office from which an agent works to meet and greet, provide help with local transport, arrange excursions, car hire and so on. 10/10 to Dragana for her very efficient and friendly service, even way outside normal working hours when we arrived very late due to delayed baggage! In fact, all the local people we met were extraordinarily friendly!

We found it easy to visit Kotor, Skadar Lake, Ostrog Monastery and Perast (with a boat trip to the island we can see from our balcony), all of which are on my "must see" list. The restaurant Catovica Mlini is just 3km away and was a perfect evening meal.

All in all a great break. Very hard to think of any negatives at all. This didn't feel like a "holiday" (with all the noise and busy-ness that evokes), rather a really nice place to spend a week. We will be coming back for more!!

Room tip: The higher the better for the view. But then more steps to climb from the beach to the apartment if you don't have a car.
