“Average and outdated”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

We were put in the Hilton because our hotel was overbooked. We were really excited to see what it was like but were disappointed with the outdated decor of the room. Very small and just very average. If we actually had to stay there because we booked and paid for the room it would have been a sad waste of money. The breakfast buffet was good and Gondola right outside was also good. The very expensive dinner buffet was amazing.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in January. We enjoyed every minute of it. We liked the ski in and out feature- as well as the gondola, ski valet and ski rental: all in the hotel. The onsen was fantastic, but giggly teens ruined it one night. Many restaurants to chose from and the continental breakfast was filling. The room appeared updated to me and i really liked the blackout curtains. You are a good distance from Hirafu, but they run a free shuttle to take you down there. They are charging a $5 person/day for a resort fee. Fairly reasonable for what it covered- child room, the shuttle, 24hr onsen access.... and other things. This is a good choice for your stay!

Room Tip: try for a view of Mt. Yohei

Initially our first experience with the Hilton was a nightmare. When we went to check in the front desk staff said sorry but there are no rooms available for us. We were shocked as we had already booked and my in-laws had already paid for our accommodation 6 months prior to arriving in Japan. My in laws were scheduled to arrive that night at 8 pm and had been travelling for 2 days to get to Niseko. As you can imagine they were extremely angry that we all didn't have rooms to stay in. The Hilton made us move to another hotel in Hirafu which is about 20 mins away, we stayed there for one night and then had to move back to the Hilton the next morning. It was a total inconvenience for all of us. It was not a good start to our holiday. They did compensate us with vouchers for lunch and dinners for the week which was great. The staff were very helpful with trying to fix this mix up and they had excellent English which was a bonus. Overall it was a great place to stay. The food in all the restaurants were excellent, Japanese and western. The onsen was really good but I have to say that the ski runs were one of the worst in Niseko. Still a great place to stay with a family.

Room Tip: Go for a lower level floor we stayed on the second to highest floor (17) and we all ended up feeling...

The Hilton is the place to stay for ski in ski out in Niseko. Has all the amenities; restaurants, ski valet and onsen. Self contained little ski resort at the base of Niseko gondola. Rooms very clean and service good. Hassel free stay.

We were coming to Niseko to ski and ended up at this hotel as it had a special on its rates. Initially I was worried about it being out of Hirafu. however there are plusses and minuses to being in this spot.
The hotel itself was great. The rooms were a good size. The onsen was fantastic and the included breakfasts were good. The ski shop personnel were really good. They fitted out my wife with great skis and one of them repaired my wife's goggles at no cost, as they didn't have anything that fitted her.
The front desk staff were really unhelpful. I think that they were trying but they didn't have functioning english. I know its a non-English speaking country but this is an international hotel and the staff here appeared to have the worst english in the whole resort. The main problem was that we asked for help with booking restaurants etc, and would be under the impression that they had understood, and then there would be no booking or the wrong booking would be made.
The Hotel itself is away from the main ski town of Hirafu. This means that there are no restaurants here but the Hotel affiliated ones i.e. more expensive than elsewhere and not as good. There is a free bus to Hirafu to get to restaurants that takes 20 min. However that meant that returning from restaurants at night involved a 20 min wait in the snow at -10oC.
The skiing at the Hilton are was great. There were not many people, so the lift waits were shorter and the runs less tracked out. There were also some great tree runs here.
Overall I had a great time here but next time I would stay in Hirafu and catch a bus over here.

We just checked out of the Hitlon and are leaving with mixed feelings. Overall the hotel is good but the management is poor and the price to stay with two children is very expensive. This place is better suited to couples, here's why...
The onsen is amazing
Ski valet is handy
Ski rental nearby is not too pricey
But
No porter help to get your bags off the bus in the freezing cold (until you get inside, then there are 3 people to help!)
Hotel was overbooked so took 3 attempts and an hour to check in
Lots of little issues... Need to ask for more soap, need to ask for onsen towels, no mini bar. Not the sort of thing you expect when paying big $ at a Hilton.
Limited and very expensive restaurant choices
Limited ski options nearby (much better skiing at Hirafu)
Shuttle bus is not that convenient (can take an hour to get back from Hirafu)
Drinks are crazy expensive

Would I recommend to another family? No. Better to stay in Hirafu and put up with walking up the hill to the ski fields.
