“peaceful and friendly hotel”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

I stayed here on 2 occasions in April; 2 nights at the start of my holiday and one night at the end. I enjoyed the larger room at the start ( perhaps a free upgrade?) but at the end I was in a smaller room. Both were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is very quiet so that was nice at night. The smaller rooms are right on the river, and the view is lovely.
The meals were good, service was excellent, and the relaxing bar area was enjoyed by my group.
Wifi access was very good also from the main lodge area and free.
As I haven't stayed anywhere else in Paro I can't compare, but I found Kichu a very comfortable 3 star hotel and would be happy to stay there again.

location is good,Amenities inside the room are out dated ,needs upgradation ,awesome view of the Himalyas and well spread our resort. May be the occupancy is less during non peak season which limits adequate luxury ,The food served in the restauarnt is quite good and the chef takes personal care, the staff need training on hospitality though they are very hardworking .

A very fantastic experience at this resort where nature loves you and surrounds you from everywhere.Everyone should stay at this resort.this resort is mainly directed and maintained by women. They are very caring and charming.Rooms are very beautiful made of wood. The scenic view from this resort is picturesque. The river Mochu is flowing beside this resort. The atmosphere is very quiet and specially the food quality is very good in taste.I really fall in love with this place.

After tigers nest, this place was a great oasis to rest. The resort area is so serene and we could have stayed here days more! Sadly it was just one night but we were lucky to have the suite. It was comfortable, the room was warmed for us before we arrived, and all the staff were very friendly. The shower was fantastic and even had USA plug adapters in the rooms. Everything here was fantastic.

This was the last hotel we stayed at in Bhutan and we have come to realize there are not many good hotels in the country. Its had to call this a resort with basic average rooms. We were there in January when it got cold at night and they told us to run the water in our sink so it would not freeze. they did have decent heat and electric blankets under the sheets.

Stayed here on the 1st night of my second visit to Bhutan. Wondered why I didn't pick this place earlier.
A well laid out place a short drive from the airport, situated on a river bank surrounded by paddy fields. The cottages are cosy and well appointed. The service might seem slow but its fine when you realise that the resort is spread out and walking around the place would take time. The staff is ever courteous.
The food is surprisingly good. I later realised thats the hallmark of the Kitchu chain. The menu keeps changing everyday so its never monotonous

Room Tip: If you dont mind the walk and love to hear/watch the river pick the ones close to the river. Otherwi...

This is clearly one of the best resorts of Paro, Bhutan set on riverside. The resort is really big with extremely comfortable and moderately luxurious rooms. Breakfast at riverside is a must do. When we stayed there, we witnessed snowfall which made this resort even more beautiful. Food is very good and the Chef was kind enough to make a lot of dishes for us at special request.

Room Tip: Any room is good :)

Yet, we have come to realize that in the flux of ever changing demands, experience falls far short of the need of the times. Today, as the world transforms, so must we, always keeping abreast of that change. Accepting it as our biggest challenge and confronting it head-on. This is because we owe it to our most valued age-old clients and to those that want to come aboard with us and test new waters. All we have to say is ‘Yes’ you’ll find us there,’ in the way you expect us to be to suit your need for a true break from what consumes your everyday lives, and give you something different – something, the memories of which will act as a salve against every tension that besieges you as you get back to the concrete jungle.Kichu Resorts is thoughtfully placed in the most idyllic settings to cover western and central Bhutan, the most sought destination of visitors worldwide. Our resorts are presently created in Paro, Wangdiphodrang and Bumthang with the explicit operandi of offering you the best of Bhutan. Kichu Resorts is an offspring of International Treks and Tours that pioneered the business of tourism in Nepal almost four decades ago. We have moved on since, relinquishing the plaudits of experience to honing ourselves to the expertise that is called upon by what our clients want today. Change is the call of the time in politics, socio-cultural reawakening and pretty much everything else. The only difference, or rather the deciding factor, is that in the service sector like tourism change is transparent; the tag of accountability hinged directly upon the business. What we can pompously boast about at Kichu Resorts is that we are naturally friendly; we don’t try to please, it is real. We are about a friendly opulence that blends with the surroundings as to be almost non-distinguishable because that is not what we want. We are about getting you lost in lavish rooms, suites, independent cottages where you have at your beck and call disciplined and attentive people with genuine big smiles. In the three picturesque valleys, our resorts merge in as part of the package from where familiarity is the advantage with which you begin your explorations. We have set bars with the ambiance of each valley; elegant mountain dining that is almost ambrosial to the place and pampering spas that will melt away the tensions of the real world. Our restaurants run the gamut of offering s from spicy Bhutanese cuisine to the continental and of course, the secret recipe of the valley itself. We want to attract and welcome people who want the very best and in return want their acclaim as a resort that delivers just that. All we have to say is ‘relax, you’re home’ and all we expect that you will come home more often.A new paradigm – the Kichu Resorts wayKichu Resorts is where the adventure and exploration begins. It is our vision that you are setting out from home into a new dimension of discovery. Tourism, given the time constraints, is today all about seeing as much as possible within the shortest time allowed. It is about having fleetingly been through a nation without actually getting any insight into what could well be called having known a place or its people. In the case of Bhutan, a night halt or a day spent in a district falls far short of what is there to see and absorb. By choice of location, Kyichu resorts offer districts that encapsulate the history of Bhutan in hundreds of temples, time-warped life styles, culture and tradition, environment and more. We specialize in short excursions to day-long trips that give you the opportunity to capture the very essence of the nation in its entirety. And at the end of fruitful day of total immersion, we are there to welcome you home again. ... more   less
