“The trip along bumpy roads is not worth it”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

The place is in ruins. Possibly it offers a good view of Jomolhari peak. Other than that the place is not really worth visiting as there is nothing much to see. You have to travel along dilapidated roads to reach this place and it is simply not worth it.

“A nice old ruin”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Good place for a luncheon picnic. An old Dzong gutted by fire in the 16th century during the war between Bhutanese and Tibetans. The Dzong is small and completely destroyed but still it feels good reaching there.

“Unless you like to explore ruins”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

The walk is good and so is the view once you are there but there isn't much for the regular tourist.

“If you have the time”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

This old famous Dzong (fortress) was built to repel invading Tibetans but unfortunately was destroyed by fire along with a number of Bhutan's historical treasures. It is on the standard tourist itinerary but question whether the trip along a very bumpy road is really worth it. However, the views are great and on a clear day, Mt Jomolhari can be seen from the road as you approach the ruins. If you have the time,

“Interesting and historical, and great views”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

Old fort, used to protect against Tibetan invaders, great view of surrounding area. This is a good place to have a knowledgeable guide who can tell you about the place.
