“Another Dzong”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

Not my favourite dzong, The Punakha one is my favoured one. There is a good view though from the lower courtyard and if you are not dzonged out, it is worth a visit.

“Paro dzong”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014 via mobile

I remember me and my friend were late, the dzong was about to close and we were the last ppl in. Im glad that the guards allowed us in, coz if they didnt i would have missed a really really good place in Paro. The architecture of the building is simply impressive. Its not as big as the Thimphu dzong. Make sure u look out of the windows in the center of the dzong because the view will just stun u. Great place to visit.

“Lovely setting and lots of history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

This is considered by many people to be the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan and after seeing maybe 8 of them I would agree with that assessment. Its location where two rivers meet is lovely. It's fun to see the young monks washing their robes in the river and looking very ancient and then playing with a wheelbarrow and seeming like young boys! The prayer wheel outside the temple is beautiful. Be sure that when you're in a temple in Bhutan that you only walk clockwise or you will be committing a major faux pas!

“Wonderful place and one of the important attraction to visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2014

The first and foremost Dzong visited during our Bhutan trip was Paro Dzong. The place was so beautiful and serene. I could find peace in my heart. Interacted with the Monks and saw them learning and meditating.

“Stunning, well worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2014

This was the first Dzong we visited. Interesting to see the combination of monks quarters and administrative center co-existing.
