This is supposed to be the best ever cafe in Paro, and it did not let us down. The place is always crowded and you need to wait few minutes to get a table. The food is tasty and of good quantity. Those of you who are looking for some comfort food after a lot of Bhutanese cuisine, can indulge here with some tasty dishes. The pizza, pav bhaji, pasta and sizzlers are some of their best. For vegetarians this is a paradise as this has a lot of good vegetarian options including an Indian thali.

We were recommended Mountain Cafe highly and went in with high expectations. The restaurant was teeming with people and was overcrowded - we thought that was a good sign, this seemed like a popular joint —- Alas ! How Mistaken we were — the teeming crowd was because the restaurant is short staffed and have a few ladies who struggle to do everything — collect payment upfront, try and pacify so many customers who have to hang around tables until some people get up from a table — place orders in the kitchen behind — rush to clean tables — serve the meals — leading to long delays from the time you enter, to the time you are served!
The food quality is also very average - nothing that I would write about! The Red Panda Draft Beer was just some pale cold liquid - tasting completely flat (at best) and a complete waste of our money!
The ladies serving us were embarrassed when we gave them feedback and said that this was the best that they could do.
Please Avoid This Place!

The Mountain Cafe restaurant is situated in the main market place in Paro. It offers all Indian cuisines which is an added advantage. But they charge tax & service charges @20% which they don't mention in their manual menu..
