Beautiful Lodge and great food. Staff was outstanding. Dinner and breakfast was the best. Would recommend as an excellent place to stay and enjoy the Central Coast of California. Fun little town with plenty of stores and dinner choices.

We booked this hotel because of its Trip Advisor reviews and proximity to Hearst Castle
It's one of the stranger places I've ever stayed at and I'm unlikely to return.
The gardens are lovely and the room was quite comfortable but other than that I'm struggling to find positives.

Poor bar service - the bar tender didn't know what a lager beer is!!!
You can hear every noise from the room next door and above or below you. We had to complain about the people above us who seemed to think it was fine to have their TV on loud at 4.30am
On our visit the hotel seemed to be full of very senior citizens. I don't have anything against seniors as I'll be one myself one day but the hotel seems to cater for such clientele, one example being the free entertainment.

Jacuzzi was broken and maintenance couldn't fix, fireplaces were broken and they were the only source of heat on a cold night, General Manager is unresponsive, emailed, called, no return emails, no phone call

Couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. The staff was great and the food was excellent. But the star of the show was the beautiful grounds! Very peaceful and relaxing. Would not hesitate to stay here again when in Cambria.

Everything was wonderful! but the The lodge and rooms could use a remodel. Dinner was amazing at the lodge restaurant. Breakfast could be better. The entertainment was ok. I feel the atmosphere could be a little more lively but if your looking for a very very chill place this would be it.
