Stopped here for the night en route to Monterey, clean and comfortable. Complementary breakfast was great. Front desk experience not the best, surly and curt. If you can, probably spend the extra money and stay somewhere overlooking the ocean. If you're getting in late and just need a clean place to sleep, Cambria Pines is a good option.

We're glad you enjoyed your room and the extensive buffet breakfast, LBmelbourne; however, we are concerned that you thought our Front Desk associate was not friendly. Hospitality training is an ongoing challenge, and we are devoted to treating every single guest in a courteous and welcoming manner. Please accept our apology for not achieving that goal during your visit. If you are ever in our area again, we invite you to return and experience the high level of hospitality that we aim to offer our guests. Thanks for your feedback.

Housekeeping staff laughed at us after we asked her to move her golf car that was parked in front of the only parking space available. She didn't apologize for her actions and would do nothing to help after we asked her a second time.

Please accept our apologies for the misstep, jamesM6855DD. We believe our housekeeper's inappropriate response was caused by an inability to understand English, leading to nervous laughter in an attempt to project a pleasant demeanor. Although we encourage all staff to attain fluency in English, some understandably have more of a facility with this difficult language than others. We regret that the incident caused an inconvenience and hope that you enjoyed the other facets of your stay. Thank you for your feedback.

First time at the lodge, but not the last. Enjoyed everything, especially the beautiful gardens and trails. Hope to return in the near future. Great free breakfast and the best coffee. So much to do in such a small town.

You're so right, audreyp804--there is lots to do in and around Cambria. Wine tasting, Hearst Castle, the Piedras Blancas elephant seal rookery, and antiquing are a few of the adventures you can look forward to the next time you visit us. Or maybe you'll just relax, have a massage, and read a book on one of our garden benches.... See you again soon!

This is the hidden gem of California.
Cute, cozy, quiet, lovely.
I hasten to give too high of a review because I don't want this place sold out when I go back, but it's pretty perfect.
I wish I could have stayed a week!
