We had waited to try this lovely little restaurant to give it time to "find itself". We were a party of 4.
We tried two different salads, one with pear and cheese and the other a caesar. What they shared was both were grossly overdressed and both had a weird, strange "hotness" that may be garlic salt, we're not sure. They weren't pleasant even though the pear and cheese were good on that salad.
A pasta dish had nice fresh scallops and shrimp, but the sauce was very bland.
Two filets came out the same "rare" even though one was ordered med rare and the other med well (yes, our friend likes his meat dead)! Both went back and came out corrected. The accompanying garlic potatoes had way too much garlic, even for people who like spice and garlic. They seemed 50/50 garlic and potato.
A lamb loin was nicely cooked, but the sauce a little salty, and the herbed potatoes just "OK".
There is an effort here to serve some nice food, but the recipes or execution did not seem professional, more like an overly-ambitious home cook.
Service was nice.
