My Husband surprised me with two nights at Cambria landing. We hadn't been there in years and were happily surprised with all the upgrades and changes. Our room was really nicely done with a Jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The ocean outside our front door. We were lulled to sleep by the waves at night and greeted in the morning with a breakfast brought to our room. Two days was definitely not long enough we are looking forward to getting back up there again soon.

Room Tip: The Jacuzzi suites are worth the extra money

The area alone is worth the stay, the Inn is right on the beach, you can hear/see the crashing waves if you wish or you can close the doors and enjoy the quiet. The bed was the best bed I have ever slept in, needless to say I was very rested after a long day of driving. The downside is the price, it is spendy; and since they fill the place regularly I guess they can keep on getting what they ask. If it is a special trip then pay it and make up the loss somewhere else on the trip.

Arriving in Cambria at the end of June (without a hotel reservation), we went directly to the Pelican Inn where we had enjoyed a stay last September. Unfortunately, they had no vacancy, but arranged for us to have an excellent room at Cambria Landing just a minute away. We were invited to come back to the Pelican Inn for their outstanding breakfast, but we found the simple breakfast delivered to our Cambria Landing room to be adequate, and very relaxing. The ocean is just across the street with easy beach access, and the restaurant next door is a good place for dinner. We could watch the ocean from our sofa inside the room, or sit on our patio out front and enjoy our morning coffee. Final renovations were still in progress at that time, and we look forward to returning to see the full impact of new management.

We had a "traditional queen" room which has 2 queen beds and a sofabed. As promoted, it has been recently remodeled. The location is great, the room OK, the morning breakfast disappointing.

Seems like the room could use a bit more light and furniture. There weren't enough tables and chairs, and no bright lights for reading. You submit your breakfast order the night before; the pastries they deliver are quite small and ordinary, if you have even an average appetite you can expect to need a trip into the town to supplement them. Also the breakfast delivery people had trouble getting the order and delivery time right. One morning I went down to the office to get a spare roll of toilet paper (since there was none in the room), I decided to make myself a cup of tea using the "hot" water dispenser in the lobby -- but it wasn't even lukewarm.

These are all small details, none big enough to ruin our stay (we still enjoyed our time staying across the street from the beach), but it suggests there still is some room for improvement.

It's in a great location on Moonstone Beach across from the Boardwalk and ocean. Fabulous views; ask for ocean front upstairs so you can sit on the balcony! Wine and cheese receptions every night and a wonderful continental breakfast delivered to your room each morning! Easy access in the rear of the property for those people that have disabilities and can't do stairs. It's a half hour drive to Paso Robles for wine tasting too. No ac, but the fan was good.

Room Tip: Upstairs balcony ocean view on the front.
