We eat here as we're staying in Cambria and it had a good view if the Pacific. We had a great evening. The Oysters Rockerfellow, Lobster and Cioppino were excellent. On arrival, as we had not booked we waited about 15 minutes but along with the great service, it was worth it.

Had a great dinner here. At 7pm, had to wait at the bar about 15 minutes. We sat on the patio. It was cool, but you can't beat eating on the beach. My wife loved her clam chowder. I had the cioppino. It was delicious. The crab was just OK, not very sweet, but the fish was great, and the tomato sauce was simple and flavorful. The service was friendly. You won't see the crisp professional efficiency of a good city restaurant, but this is the country, so who cares.

Beware of Cove scampi on the menu. Excellent but if you are expecting "langoustines" what we know in our part of the world as scampi you will be disappointed. Scampi in this restaurant are prawns. Clam chowder was excellent. Service was attentive and professional.

There are many interpretations of Traditional Scampi. Our interpretation is with prawns which we clearly state on our menu. Our prices are very much in line with the restaurants on the Central Coast even though our real estate costs are much higher on the ocean. We raised our prices 2% at the beginning of this year which was our first price increase in 6 years. Food costs in that time have gone up in excess of 15%. Without the small increase in our prices, we would have no margin at all. California is an expensive state to do business in. Our goal here at Moonstone is to give our customers great food with great service at a good value.
Thank you for your input and for allowing us to have this conversation about our pricing structure.
