“Disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2009

We heard good reports about Robin's and were looking forward to trying it. The electricity went off in the village and they were working by candlelight and a generator. The staff worked around this very well. We both ordered baby back ribs. The meal was VERY disappointing. The ribs were very ordinary and they served it with kale which had way too much garlic. While the service was great, I would not recommend this restaurant for the food.

“A Disappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2009

After reading the other reviews here and on the advice of a friend we visited Robin's on our trip to Cambria and Hearst Castle. Service was slow and we had to ask the host several times to get server to come to our table. Took almost 30 minutes to get a bottle of wine. The food was good but nothing to write home about. There is nothing special about Robin's and there are plenty of other good chocies in town.

“Great food and Garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2009

If you like fresh food and an eclectic menu, check out Robin's. My wife had the lobster enchiladas and I had the wild salmon with herb butter. Both were great and so was the creme brulee for dessert. They also had special menus for Sundays along with live music. I have been to Cambria twice and this may be the best place we ate at. Try to get a seat in the garden if possible. I saw a lot of hummingbirds and hawks during my meal.

“Fresh and Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2009

My friend and I stumbled on Robin's because some of the other restaurants were closed down down for the evening in the area (around 8:30 pm or so) - what a happy mistake! Our server was very courteous and nice and didn't rush us at all. And the food was just great - I ordered a gnocchi that was made with fresh vegetables - it was so flavorful I haven't had gnocchi like that before. The price is average for the area (so a little bit pricey) but I felt awas more than a fair value for what we received. I would highly recommend this restaurant to someone staying in the area.

One tip - try to get to dinner a little bit earlier than we did though! : )

“Well... we both liked it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2009

The title sums it up. Hard to pick out anything outstanding to comment on, but overall a great night out. In fact 2 nights out in 3 days. It was so good we went back for our last meal in Cambria.

We liked the mix of US and World cuisine. We had all three courses, which is a bit unusual for both of us to do. The food was excellently prepared, the service was polite and attentive without being gushing. The atmosphere was lively without being intrusive. Enjoyable relaxing night out.
