“Good food ”
Reviewed February 9, 2014 via mobile

We were warned about the long line to get a table, but went late enough (8pm) to get seated immediately. The lady who seated us was a bit odd, but besides that the servers were great! My husband got the salmon from the catch of the day and I got the scallop linguini. Excellent!!! Both main dishes came with soup or salad. We tried the clam chowder- yum.
The place seemed to be a fav with the locals and vacationers.

“Great Food, great place!”
Reviewed February 4, 2014 via mobile

Seated promptly by a friendly waitress, and it only got better! Nice ambiance, place had the feel of an old Victorian house but with a seafarer feel. Started with Devils on Horseback- killer sautéed oysters on garlic toast with bacon- ohhh my my good. Fresh swordfish and scallops, fresh veggies, and to stuffed for dessert-which looked awesome. Definite return planned!

“Great nautical ambiance”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

The restaurant is always packed and everyone wants to sit in the front room or at the bar. Either go very early or be prepared to wait. We were in the back room and it is warm and cozy. The waitstaff is prompt and professional. The prices are higher than we are use to in Santa Barbara, but the seafood fresh, plentiful and cooked to profection. Be prepared with cash, as they do not accept credit cards.

“Seaside dining! Lovely Location!”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

You know you are getting older when you can say, "Back in the Day"....This charming little dining room was truly terrific "Back in the Day", but recently we have experienced only o.k. dinners and service. Its a cash only, no reservations kind of place, so be prepared for a wait. Most customers show up at least a half hour (or longer) to wait in the line in the parking lot for first come, first serve dinners. Cambria can be windy and chilly in the evening so be sure to dress accordingly.

The food is fairly good, mainly seafood, but we have had disappointing meals here. The bar is a lot of fun and you can eat right at the bar. The view is fabulous. The ocean is across the street and if you happen to get in before sunset, you are in for a real treat when the sun goes down.

Overall, I would probably recommend at least a stab at the Sea Chest - especially if you are a big fan of oysters (I am not...). Try to go mid-week and perhaps you will get right in.

“Great Dinner and Folks”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

My wife and I were on a little weekend vacation and were told by a co-worker that this place was a must-stop for seafood. We ordered the crab legs which were a huge 1.5 lb portion that we split along with sides. The wait-staff was friendly and the place was absolutely packed. A few PROTIPs:
*Cash Only.
*We came on a weekend, the place opens at 5:30 and there's no reservations.
*Bring a chair at least 45 minutes early and wait in line if you want to get into the first seating. Not to worry though, the view and the company are fantastic.
*The line is a scene of locals who bring their own wine since it's a $15 corkage. They start opening those bottles early so If you at least bring a cup, you'll get to join in :-)
