I made reservations at this restaurant after reading through all of the great reviews on TripAdvisor. I was very disappointed with this restaurant and may or may not give it another chance.
We had reservations and were immediately seated upon our arrival. Unfortunately, we were seated in a room that was filled with a few groups of "loud talkers" and could barely hear ourselves speak to each other. On top of the noise, the tables were so close together it was like we were dining with the folks next to us. We requested to be moved to another area in the restaurant. Our request was accommodated without hesitation.
The waitress (cannot remember her name) was prompt with the menus and asked if would like to order anything to drink. Before she left with the drink order, she advised of the soup de jour, and advised us there were no specials and everything in print was available... shortly afterwards, she returned with our drinks and took our order. Shortly after that, another waitress came by with a basket of "freshly baked" rolls and offered them to us. We accepted, however, these rolls may have been freshly baked, but they were dry and hard... so dry that we requested water from our waitress to wash them down! Unfortunately, the water took 10 minutes to be delivered to the table. While we were waiting for the water the same waitress took the dinner order for the table next to us, where she advised them about the specials... apparently it was restaurant week and there were selected items on a restaurant week menu that she neglected to tell us about when she told us there were no specials.
The food was fine, but nothing over the top... it was good, but not spectacular.
Considering the incredible reviews this restaurant receives on this website, I was sincerely disappointed and will probably try Madeline's when next visiting Cambria.
