The food was fantastic, the service incredible, and the ambiance perfect for a romantic dinner for 2.

This is a quaint little place in the heart of Cambria. The menu was simple and the food exquisite. The wine selections are Central Coast and extensive. It was my "favorite" place that we ate on our whole trip down Highway 1. BRAVO!

We went to The Black Cat while staying in Cambria, the night before touring Hearst Castle at nearby San Simeon. The restaurant came highly recommended by the folks at our hotel, as well as numerous online reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was superb. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgable, recommending the perfect wine to go with our superb entrees.
One of the best meals I've had anywhere, anytime. And a great value, to boot. Go!

We were recently in Cambria and ate at the Black Cat on a Saturday night. The food was excellent and the service superb. I am writing this to congratulate the restaurant on how they maintain their quality of food and proper service. We had reservations and were immediately seated. During th evening several people showed up without reservations and there were several empty tables. The staff told them they were sorry they could not accommodate them and made reservations for them on the phone at nearby competitors' restaurants. I asked the waiter why are they turning people away when they had space available. He said they have a limited kitchen and in order to maintain the quality and service of the restaurant they had to limit the number of clients Their desire to turn out excellent food and service went before financial gain.. I doubt there is another restaurant around with their integrity.,,A true fan of this restaurant

Everything we ate was great. Complex and fresh flavors.

We made a reservation online the same night as our dinner, and got the impression that same-day online bookings might not be honored, and that we got in just because there was space.

Service isn't fawning, so if you want to be flattered, go elsewhere.
