For years we have tried to take a tour of this lighthouse. It was either being restored or the time schedule did not work for us. The trick for this tour is to make sure to meet up at the closed down motel north of the lighthouse. There you will queue up and pay your $10pp. You will then be escorted to the lighthouse by a park service person in your own vehicle. Depending on how many people show up you may be divided into small groups. The tour was giving by a volunteer docent and lasts approximately 2 hours. Our tour guide was excellent and provided a history of the area as well as learning about native plants and animals. You will not be climbing any stairs in the lighthouse, but you do go inside the lighthouse main floor. The tour was well done and I would highly recommend it.

Hear about the tour from the hotel in Cambria. The two hour tour was one of the best we have ever taken. Both tour guides were well informed and very pleasant. Saw a lot of history as well as lot's of live animals on land and in the ocean. Followed up with a drive to Cambria to see the original light. $20 well spent.

Took the tour of this Light Station and was just blown away, probably one of the best Lighthouse/Station tours I've ever taken. The road down to the station is a dirt road which didn't bode well with this corvette group and the parking was tight but I highly Highly recommend this trip when in the area. So much history and the docents are awesome.Be sure to ride into Cambria and see the "light" that goes on top.

Our hotel, the Blue Dolphin told us about this lighthouse tour and gave us the brochure. It was the next day @ 9:30am so we thought for $10 we would check it out. It was so interesting and the tour is 2 hours, you also get a nice nature walk tour(they pointed out seals, otters and had binoculars to use if you forgot yours) The group meet at an old motel just down from the lighthouse & then you caravan over there. The volunteers there were so informative and friendly. Highly recommend!!
