For years we have tried to take a tour of this lighthouse. It was either being restored or the time schedule did not work for us. The trick for this tour is to make sure to meet up at the closed down motel north of the lighthouse. There you will queue up and pay your $10pp. You will then be escorted to the lighthouse by a park service person in your own vehicle. Depending on how many people show up you may be divided into small groups. The tour was giving by a volunteer docent and lasts approximately 2 hours. Our tour guide was excellent and provided a history of the area as well as learning about native plants and animals. You will not be climbing any stairs in the lighthouse, but you do go inside the lighthouse main floor. The tour was well done and I would highly recommend it.
