My husband and I spent this past weekend at Sand Pebbles Inn after deciding we needed some husband/wife R & R time. We booked the room via the direct Sand Pebbles Inn website. They had online specials so we booked an ocean front room with a fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and patio with a table & chairs. It was $199/night, but definitely worth the extra money for the ambience that room provided. The hotel staff was very friendly. Check in was a breeze - they even let us check in and get our room at 2:15 PM. To our delight, the hallway to our room smelled like chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven. The room itself was not overly large, but adequate for just 2 people. The bed was a king sized brass bed and the decor is very charming. Across the street from the hotel is a great wooden path that leads to several lookout points along Moonstone Beach. A very romantic walk in any direction awaits you. We had dinner at the Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill which is approximately a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We ate on the patio and found that they have heaters and blankets available if the evening chill is a little to strong. Overall, we had a fabulous time and will surely stay at this hotel again!!! Superb!!

Programing my trip between Los Angeles and san Francisco, I needed to do 2 stops, and the first one was in Cambria. Sand Pebbles inn, is perfect: clean, comfortable, cosy, ROMANTIC, and have an excellent breakfest! Is in front of the beach and just 2 miles for the Hearst Castle (go there, is beautiful, but reserve before!). Is not a bargain, but your money will be well applied.

We were here for a Hearst Castle weekend and wanted to stay closer to the castle without having to drive from slo. We loved the amazing view from our ocean front room. The Inn is just accross the street from Moon Stone Beach. There is a lovely wooden path to walk along the ocean and enjoy the salty fresh air and amazing sunsets. It was worth spending the extra money on the view with a fireplace. The hotel staff was pleasant and we were able to check in and out with ease. If you are looking for night life Cambria is not the town for you. However, if you want a peaceful and relaxing stay with festive window shopping on a historic mainstreet, you have found the right place.

We searched and searched for an affordable yet romantic place to stay along Big Sur - and ended up here. What a wonderful thing! We had a corner room near the front of building so it had an ocean view. It also has a gas fireplace, hot tub, canopy bed, and a nice tv. We needed to be spoiled at this point in our road trip - and we were. Cambria also has a really cute main street with some adorable restaurants. The only downside is that this place can be pricey - check their website for net only deals!

My husband, 11 yr old daughter and I stayed in room 111 of this hotel. The room smelled musty. The ice machine was right outside our door and sounded like a vacuum cleaner that ran all night and the ice dropping was even worse. We had to stuff towels under the door. The room was directly across from the "tea room" so in the morning all the clanging of dishes and beeping from the waffle machine and the people sitting on little tables right outside our door was bad. The window for our partial ocean view was along side the driveway and you could hear every single car. The people above us were well heard at 6:00 a.m and the toilets flushing could be heard from next door. My daughter had to sleep with a pillow on her head and when I complained to the manager he said, "funny no one else ever complained" I find that hard to believe. He said that he would have to go check on it and call me back. I have stayed in many hotels as we travel alot and I can't think of another time I have actually complained to the management. I have stayed at the Fog Catcher on moonstone and I wish that I had this time too.

Thank you for your review of Sand Pebbles Inn. We are never happy to hear a guest is unhappy and your complaint should not have been dismissed. We are reviewing the setup in that area and hope to come up with a solution that will prevent this issue in the future. We really never expected breakfast to be so popular with guests and when the breakfast room is full, it can spill into the hallways and we can appreciate how annoying that was for you. We hope you try again, as this is really not the usual experience here.

We only spent one night at the Sand Pebbles Inn but we had the most wonderful time. We had actually booked a partial ocean view room but when we got to the hotel the ladies at the frontdesk made us a great offer to upgrade to a full ocean view room. And it was really worth the money! The room was very spacious and we could hear the waves when we opened our window. It was absoltutely gorgeous! The entire hotel was very nicely decorated and extremely clean. A great place to stay!
