“Pick up moonstones on the beach.”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

This is a great beach to walk along the small boardwalk with dogs and exercise in the mornings. Also known for the mineral deposits that wash down small streams onto the beach area. You can find Jade and moonstones.
There was a lot of seaweed that could have a very strong odor in some sections but overall, a nice beach.

“Beautiful, peaceful and well worth a visit”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

The beach, sea, wildlife, scenery is all here. A stunning beach with a good walk path. We ate in the Moonstone grill which was also excellent. There are good parking facilities as long as inns and hotels with fantastic sea views. A truly beautiful part of the west coast and worth a visit when driving down the coast. We stopped in Cambria village only a few minutes drive away.

“It doesn't get much better than this...”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

The boardwalk along Moonstone Beach makes walking/strolling so easy. There are many stairway paths down to the beach so that if you decide you want to get even closer to the surf, its easy and safe. Plenty of benches and outlooks to take in the unsurpassed beauty. Those staying at a lodging along Moonstone Drive can simply go outside and cross the street to get on the boardwalk. There are plenty of places to park and even a restroom is provided at Moonstone Beach proper. Morning fog, spectacular sunset (when the air is clear), and pleasant sea breezes make this such a nice walk. Next time we get here, we're going to take the boardwalk all the way into quaint Cambria city to extend the walk.

“Foggy and gloomy”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Because of the fog, the beautiful beach looked cold and gloomy. It was SO sunny on the coast 5 minutes before arriving at Cambria!

“It's a horrible place! Don't go!”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

I want to keep it all to myself! It's so beautiful, peaceful, and quiet with a wonderful walking trail along the beach, and cool tide pools! People who stay at hotels on Moonstone Beach are respectful and quiet for the most part which makes for a lovely getaway!
