“Great views and location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2011

We stayed right at shore at moonstone beach while passing through for an evening while heading to San Francisco. The beach was very pleasant and not busy. you could take a stroll and be alone and not bothered by crowds. The further you go down to the right on the beach itself, the 'sand' becomes hard to walk in as it is completely 'moonstone's' instead of sand. I had to put my shoes back on, even to walk in the water. The stones are gorgeous and make for a great sight though, so I didnt mind. Great location to take a walk or take some time away and the views are gorgeous.

This was a cute pretty beach. We walked along the little path at sunset. Worth a visit.

“Spectacular Afternoon!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2008

We recently got to spend a spectacular afternoon at Moonstone Beach....and went back to watch the sunset before dinner. We walked from one end of the beach to the next and enjoyed every second of our time here. We saw so many sea lions I could not believe it! We could have gotten so close to them, but of course we didn't. I took a picture of 1 that was looking right at me that I simply adore. The rock formations were so unusual and the sound of crashing waves so neat to just sit and listen too. We saw all types of sea life in the tidepools that formed. It was so peaceful here that I cannot remember another time when we just actually sat and watched/enjoyed nature at it's best. Enjoy!

“Rocks, Waves & Tidepools - Recipe for enjoying nature”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2008

We stopped at Moonstone Beach for lunch on our way up Highway 1. It was a sunny, windy day and the waves on the rocks were beautiful. We were also able to watch the seals and enjoy the wildlife in the tidepools (esp one rather large starfish).

The whole trip up Route 1 was exciting and gorgeous. Our noon lunch here was special.
