If you have not driven out to CSUCI, make Tortillas Grill your excuse to visit the beautiful campus.

The restaurant is great. My favorites are the potato and chicken tacos, they are more like taquitos and come with guacamole. The fish tacos are also very tasty. The prices are fair and comparable to Snapper Jacks or Olas in Camarillo.

I have yet to try the sangria or beer. Perhaps someday when I am not in class I will try them.

I live nearby this restaurant and have been to the restaurant at least 2 dozen times since they opened. I've always been impressed with the food. It's a great value, and the family who runs it are super-friendly. The kitchen is open and you can see them making the food fresh, and it tastes great. The courtyard is one of the few places I've been in the US that genuinely feels like eating at a sidewalk cafe in a courtyard in Europe -- a real treat! For anyone visiting CSUCI who wants to stop for a casual meal, you will probably be happily surprised by this little gem.

This restaurant is on the campus of CSU Channel Islands. It is behind the library in a small strip mall, across from the bookstore. The food here is pretty good. I think the tortillas are home made. Burritos, tacos, and chili relleno are all on the menu. Its a little pricey, but they pretty much have no competition nearby. If you are on campus and cannot make it to town, this is easily the best place to eat.
