“Very dated, but clean and friendly”
Reviewed October 5, 2013 via mobile

Great value for the area. Super short 5 minutes into downtown. Decent wifi, standard chain breakfast, and sort of loud room by the main road. A very dated and mediocre property, but I still came away feeling good because the staff is so nice.

My sister Linda and I LOVED our stay for 2 nights Sept. 29-30, 2013 at Calistoga's Comfort Inn, Sean checked us in Sunday afternoon and out Tuesday morning, and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area, Napa Valley in particular. The buffet was awesome each morning, with sausage and eggs, as well as made to order waffles, and you could have tea or coffee anytime of the day. The beds were the most comfortable I have stayed on. Serta mattresses are the best! I highly recommend this very clean, very convenient Inn just outside the downtown Calistoga area. Definitely will plan to stay with Comfort Inns again in the future when traveling.

Room Tip: we liked room 112 as it was a short walk to the pool, mineral hot tub, and saunas (steam & heat)

My husband and I along with another couple stayed here one night at the beginning of a 12 day trip to Napa, San Francisco and Monterey. Sean at the front desk was an exceptional example of good customer service. He went out of his way to make us comfortable, showed us exactly how to get to extraordinary wineries and gave us clear directions to the next leg of our trip.
Although the rooms may be somewhat dated with old air conditioners, the breakfast was more than expected, beds were wonderful, the outside has clearly had a facelift and Sean made this a great place to stay. All things said, we would definitely recommend this inn.
Thanks Sean!

This is a nice hotel. Like most Comfort Inns and hotels in its category it is two stories with no elevator. The staff was very pleasant. The room was a nice size with good furniture including a refrig (but no microwave). I especially liked the stuffed chairs for relaxing.
Robes are provided for use at the pool and hot tub.
The breakfast was what I’ve come to find is a Comfort Inn standard with a wide array of items including hard-boiled and cooked eggs, and heated breakfast meats. (Per an NPR report I heard while traveling most breakfast buffet food that is in a big tub comes from an off-site kitchen. It’s not a matter of the hotel quality; it’s about a lack of facilities to handle large volume in a short period.) The breakfast space itself was quite large and included tables outdoor.
While the interior of the sleeping room and hotel’s public rooms were respectable, the exterior is getting a little shabby.

We stayed here for 2nights Sept 23 - 25 to do some local wine tasting and touring. Inn is clean, comfortable and in a ideal location for visiting the wineries. The service was friendly and hospitable. The rooms were ample and quiet. The bed was very very comfortable. We loved the balcony for sitting out on in the morning and later afternoon after touring. I would definitely stay at this Inn again.

We were looking for a one night stay at a clean, comfortable lodging and that is what we got at the Comfort Inn at Calistoga. Kelly was most efficient getting us checked in with rooms closer together than had been assigned & with directions to parking & those rooms. Inside, the rooms had nice beds & newer a/c units that were quiet. Bathrooms were updated and shower heads had been raised & replaced. Loved having a refrig and the bathrobes were a nice touch. Towels are not the worst nor best but adequate. The exterior of the facility needs obvious work - landscaping is missing so dirt blows into the mineral bath hot tub (thank you Kelly for showing us how it turns on as there were no instructions), tiles at the pool are missing & rotted wood is evident in various locations. Breakfast was to start at 7 AM but didn't open til 7:30 or later and was the usual yogurt, juice hardboiled eggs, fruit, etc. The rooms were clean but in the middle price range ($150) I would expect the lobby & the exterior to be in better condition.

My parents and myself and a friend stayed here last month for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is wonderful, nearby several nice vineyards, including Sterling and the small but worthwhile Vincent Arroyo, and walking distance to Lava Wine. We loved our second floor room w mountain views. Quiet. Great pool and hot tub with thermal waters. Very tiny excercise room. Only complaint was that pool didn't stay open later. Lovely garden patio to eat breakfast, our room had a balcony which we enjoyed drinking our newly puchased wines. Manager Sean and staff Kelly were particularly friendly and responsive to any needs or questions that we had. We will be back.

Room Tip: second floor w balcony and mountain view
