“Fabulous Stay at Christophers Again”
Reviewed February 17, 2009

We stay at this wonderful little country inn every year for our anniversary. We spoil ourselves with the beautiful private massage room for two with a fireplace and two massage therapists. Prior to our massage, we rent bikes so the massage is a wonderful conclusion to the day. In 2008 and 2009 two movies were filed in town, and many of the stars stayed here. It was fun to hear the stories! We'll surely be back next year. Cant give up the breakfast in bed.

This is my third stay here, and I am still wooed by it's charm. The hospitality is lovely, and a sweet little breakfast-in-a-basket greets you every morning. Though the Inn has expanded in size over the last few years, it maintains it's quaint nature. We will continue to return again & again...

We stayed in room #9 and heard the shower and neighbors talking.

We also rececived a massage in the massage room and found hairballs on the floor and urine around the toliet.

Lots of money for lots of funk,

It would be so helpful to management if our guests conveyed any issues they have so that we may rectify them immediately. Noisy guests are rarely a problem here, but sometimes it happens. We would certainly have moved these guests to another room, or called the offending party -- either way, please let us know. As to the hairballs, we have doublechecked with the massage facility we work with, and it is spotlessly clean. As a matter of interest, the stars of the Disney movie "Bedtime Stories" got massages in the same room, and loved it. We are sorry these guests had a poor experience and hope they will give us another opportunity in future.

After several years, my wife and I returned to Christopher's Inn for a weekend getaway. We had stayed here 9 years ago and enjoyed our stay so much that it was an easy choice when deciding where to lodge.

The property has grown quite a bit since our last stay, but the charm and great personal service still remains. Each room is unique and you can select the amenities that are important to you (ie. fireplace, jacuzzi tub, etc.).

The owners, Adele and Christopher are very accommodating, friendly, and truly take an interest in your stay. Having been in the area for many years, they can advise you on the best restaurants, spas, wineries, and other attractions the valley has to offer. We enjoyed a fabulous massage and facial treatment from Lavendar Hill Spa and we had an outstanding dinner at Tra Vigne in St. Helena.

We will return to Christopher's Inn!

We booked this room for a last romantic weekend as my wife enters late-stage pregnancy. At $250 we did not expect a palace and we didn't get one. The linoleum-tiled room was tiny, perhaps the smallest I have had outside London, parts of China, or a couple of budget accommodations in New York. The room's layout made little sense. The tiny denim loveseat did not face a window or the fireplace, but instead faced a battered electric heater. The bed did face the fireplace across the minimal length of the room. It also faced a TV that was set near the ceiling and to the left of any reasonable line of sight. The nightstands were along a side wall and out of reach from the bed, which did have a mysterious gilt structure screwed into the ceiling above the pillows, waiting to come crashing down in the next earthquake. The advertised patio consisted of a 40-square foot enclosure with a couple of wire chairs an a high-walled, prison-like atmosphere. We spilled a few cracker crumbs in the middle of the floor the first night, but they were there waiting for us when we returned the next day after the room had been cleaned, as were the dirty wine glasses we had had to request from the desk when we arrived. The bathroom was very small but the strong water-pressure in the plastic-bottomed shower was a highlight. Trip Advisor claims there are 29 B&Bs in Calistoga. Try one of the other 28.

My husband and I stayed at Christopher's Inn last week. Along with elegant and luxurious accommodations and atmosphere there was a welcoming and gracious staff and personalized attention. I especially enjoyed the fireplace and my husband loved the big comfortable bed! Beautiful antiques in the rooms...don't miss the Italian fountain, statues, plus the stained glass window in the main building. The sweet little town of Calistoga is a short stroll away, and there are some spectacular new wineries just down the road...ask owners and staff for recommendations. Now is a great time to visit as the fall colors are still on display and the weather sunny and crisp.

There aren't many places to stay in Calistoga. This is one of the nicest. The front desk is very helpful with ideas for places to dine as well as things to see. If you want a quiet night, book an upstairs room away from the highway. The morning basket was just the right amount of food to start the day. A group of us stayed there to be at a wedding. Everyone thought is was nice but over-priced.
