Stayed 2 nights at Aurora Park - June 7&8. It is a hidden gem in Calistoga. The cottage had enough room for all of our suitcases and bottles of wine we had collected. There was a small fridge with water stocked. They brought breakfast by every morning ~8:30 just before we headed out to the wineries. Joe (owner) was a hot [--] and spent some time on our deck talking wine and local spots. He had a lot of good advise and discount coupons. Calistoga has a slight pulse of nightlife and the cottages are walking distance to town (under a mile). Overall no complaints and a very positive experience - would definitely stay again on a future stay.

We are spoiled because we live in the San Francisco Bay Area and can run away to the Napa/Sonoma Wine Country pretty much whenever we want to - and it's only about a 2 hr +/- ride from home... that said, we love to run away for visits several times a year. This time we went for a special event at one of our favorite wineries, Vincent Arroyo in Calistoga.

We don't much like the older, Calistoga mud bath/spa/creaky motel type of accommodations. There are a couple of "newer" motels that charge almost as much as the B&Bs. The newest places have extremely high rates. We heard about Aurora Park Cottages and looked at their web site. We liked the idea of having a separate cottage and liked what we saw on their site and the price was right. We had a lovely 2-night stay over the first weekend of May. Joe and Celeste made us feel like old, valued friends! This is a very cosy place to stay.

An issue for some might be that there isn't a pool or hot tub. During the Summer this might be an issue for some... Yes, you can hear the traffic on the road but it didn't bother us at all and I'm noise-sensitive. I sleep in ear plugs but they were hardly necessary.

We only spent one night at the Aurora Park Cottages, but they were very cute. After driving through Calistoga, Im glad that we stayed there and not anywhere else. There are quite a few old run down looking hotels/inns in the city. If you want higher class and a spa, then maybe Solara is the answer.

Joy and Barry, the Innkeepers were very helpful. The individual cottages were recently renovated and look fantastic. You get a lot of space and privacy. The bed was very comfy!! Joy brings breakfast to your door at 8:30 AM. It was very nice.

Before our trip to Napa Valley, I researched many bed and breakfasts and, admittedly, there are several good one's to choose from. Aurora Cottages, however, stood out to me. The accomodations seemed very unique, and cute, and the idea of having individual cottages, seemed an extra plus in a bed an breakfast atmosphere. Our stay, exceeded our expectations!

First off, Joy and Barry were very friendly and extremely attentive. We notified them that we were coming in late and they waited for us until 10:00 p.m. Once we entered the cozy (and very cute) cottage, there was champagne, chocolate, and a personal welcome greeting with our names on it. When we ran out of cream, Joy was there within a few minutes with more. The fresh fruit, pastries and juice delivered to us every morning, in a basket, was a nice touch. I have stayed in many hotels and b&b's and I can honestly say I have never received that level of genuine and attentive hospitality.

I would recommend this place to anyone, especially, couples who want a nice cozy get away.

For our annual trek to the Napa Valley, we considered several b & b's in Calistoga, and were not disappointed in our choice of the Aurora Park. The complex consists of six individual cottages set on a gentle slope, near central Calistoga. Our unit was a spacious and well-appointed queen, with daily maid service and a nice continental breakfast delivered to our room each morning, What really made this place wonderful was the unit itself; it was like having our own little house! The innkeepers, Joy and Barry, were extremely hospitable, and helped us plan our winery visits. I can't think of any place we'd rather stay in the Napa Valley.

When looking for the perfect Honeymoon, we came across the quaint little town of Calistoga. It couldn't have been a more perfect choice. The best part of our expereince was the B&B we stayed at, Aurora Park Cottages. We stayed in Cottages 6 at the top of the hill. I loved the french doors that opened to the lawn area. We saw Deer and wild Turkey in the early mornigns.
Joy- the new inkeeper- was a delight. She makes theyummiest pastries every morning and was so nice to talk to. I so want to move there, and joy almost talked me into it. Aside from her friendly demeanor and yummy cooking, she was so accomodating. She rushed to clean our room when our flight arriced early, came to our cottage at midnight when I was frantic to find a way to get red wine out of the carpet and was so helpful when we needed to find travel boxes for our treasure of wine we purchased. on the last day we had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with the original owners Joe and Celeste, and they are two of the most adorable and friendly people I have ever met. The beds are so comfy and the people are so friendly. I could not have imgained a more personal expereince, it sure beats the imporsonal touches of staying at the Hilton, that is for sure.
SOme places we LOVED while there, Vincent Arroyos!!!! Such a generous man, he personally gave a tour of his winery, let us taste straight from the barrel and gave us a complimentary bottle of Nameless to celebrate our honeymoon... which I later spilled on the carpets.. oops. Anyways, the charm of the small winery was the best expereince we had there.
Bar Vino was a nice night cap, we especially loved La Sirena's Muscato Azul for a nice... Not too sweet desert wine.
Peju was another great place with reasonable priced wine that complimented many palats.
I just wanted to say thanks to Joe, Celeste, Joy, Barry, and Harley!!! We can't wait to see you next April when we bring my Mother IN Law up there. See you Soon!
