This is the room and the view we dream about when life gets so busy. We had a lovely open porch off our bedroom overlooking the vineyards and with views of the hills beyond. It was enchanting and we could have spent hours there reading while drinking wine and good Calistoga water.

The house is old; hence its charm. Each furnishing is unique and has a story. Ask Tim, the innkeeper! He is delightful to chat with and is a wealth of information about the valley and his inn. The location is quiet and private but close to St Helena and Calistoga and an easy drive to many vineyards. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and comfortable stay on our visit to the Napa Valley.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautifully furnished. Pick one with a porch (one is open, one closed)

What a great visit we had at the Larkmead Country Inn. A gorgeous home, surrounded by vineyards, and close to the main town of Calistoga. Couldn't be a better location, and the accommodations were wonderful. The price was fair, and the innkeeper, Tim, was a truly wonderful host who we could have chatted with for hours! He's been in the valley for years and has many wonderful and interesting stories. This B&B is truly a gem. Thank you, Tim, for the wonderful visit! We will return!

We cannot wait until our next trip to the Napa Valley. The Larkmead has 4 rooms
so cozy and homey! We are telling all our friends here in the mountains that
if your going down below this is heaven! A must stay. Breakfast is yummy, the
other guests were European and stayed a week (we stayed a weekend) and
thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll be there again soon.

Room Tip: The room with the twin beds has an enclosed deck

Nice location but not much else good to say. Corners cut all around. Towels and sheets are bottom grade. They used so much chlorine bleach in the wash that I had to cover my pillow with clothes so I didn't smell it. Walls are thin. I could hear the neighbors snoring all night. Breakfast is a fruit plate (lovely) and flaky pastries. Nothing hot. No protein. Coffee was not great. Instead of half and half, they provide skim milk for creamer (yuck!). Stay here if you don't expect much or really want to save money. And, no locks on any doors so must have high trust factor too.

Returned to Larkmead Inn for another of many stays over the years. The location can't be beat and the friendliness of Tim is always appreciated. It is exactly what we want in Wine Country. Rooms are clean and for some who worry about locked doors it has never been a problem. Breakfast is great out on the balcony overlooking the vineyards. You truly have the feeling the house is yours. It is an icon of Napa Valley for us. We wouldn't want to stay any where else. Great place for families or couples alike. We will be returning as soon as we can.

we took a weekend break in December and fell in love with this place. The house, according to the innkeeper, was built by the original winemaker for Larkmead Winery back in the 1930s for his bride. It's a beautiful stately house with all the old plantings you would expect for a house of that age (old walnut trees, roses, wisteria). It's also in great location. I don't sleep well in new places if there is street or car noise and this B&B was on a quiet road in the middle of vineyards. I slept nicely. Still it was only about 5 minutes in either direction to Calistoga and St. Helena. We did dinner St. Helena one night and then Calistoga the next. The rooms are old fashioned and comfortable. We had a private enclosed sun porch on ours with view over the vineyards. The innkeeper brought us a drinkable wine and we enjoying it on the porch before heading off for dinner. The breakfast is filling, beautiful fruit plate and warm pastries served with Peete's coffee. The inn keeper mentioned they were closing over the holidays for renovations and looking into adding wifi, which would be great. We'll be back in the spring.

Staying at the secluded Larkmead Country Inn was very relaxing and educational. Tim the owner shared his knowledge of this area and recommended wonderful restaurants which are close by. Being surrounded by vineyards you do not feel the hustle and bustle of a popular tourist place. I highly recommend this historic family run Inn for anyone that seeks a quiet peaceful getaway.
