This is a great place to stay and visit the wine country of Napa valley. However:
1) refusing to allow kids below 13 in the adult pool abc then providing a horrible tiny pool for babies as an alternative is rubbish.
2) the concierge never gets back to you and that is very frustrating.
3) despite being in the heart of the Napa Valley, they offer absolutely no I gifbstikn of advice on wine tasting which is ridiculous. We tried with the concierge - see 2- but he didn’t even respond. It took me hours to work out a family friendly wine tasting tour. My tip: call and ask to bring your kids. Even the vineyards which say no kids will alllow to bring them if you ask personally. Also avoid the hotels recommendation of castello del Amorosa for a wine tasting. It is Disney with mediocre wine. Avoid the hotel recommendation of V Satsui as it is overcrowddd. Instead have a pizza lunch in the beautiful gardens of Charles Krug- peaceful and delicious. Go to Pride Mountain, the best winemaker and lovely people. And go to Wheeler Farms- kid friendly and beautiful wines (Accendo is amazing).
Solage needs to up its game with service. If it dies, it’ll be great.More
