Owner description: Castello di Amorosa is one of Napa Valley's most unique wineries. Castello di Amorosa makes a variety of award-winning wines from its location on the hillside above Calistoga. Try "Il Barone," the wine that Robert Parker rated 94 points. Castella di Amorosa is a replica of a castle in Tuscany. It's beautiful, with turrets to climb and many animals outside - goats, chickens, even ostriches!

There is a tour offered here but we heard it was very long. We walked around on our own and did a tasting. The wine here was some of the best we had of every place we went to in Napa. "The Lady" is phenomenal. Several very good whites as well. The pinot grigio was my favorite, the chardonnay was my husband's favorite (and one of the few bottles we bought while in Napa) and the sweet whites were good as well. The downgrade to four stars instead of five is just because they were a bit pushy after the tasting about purchases. Overall, though, a great experience!

What a neat place to visit! We paid for the self-guided tour to the grounds which included a wine tasting of any 5 wines. The castle is as authentic as possible, with a drawbridge, blacksmith hardware, and animals wandering the grounds (geese, turkeys, ostrich, ducks, peacocks, and chickens). There are even pig and sheep pens. It's obvious the owner takes great pride in his castle and in his wines. The gift shop had plenty of neat items to purchase. There is even grape juice for children to taste. A great stop!

One of my favorite wineries in the area because despite the beautiful castle and views, the wine is excellent! Wander around the grounds with their beautiful flowers, vineyards and animals but just makes sure you end up in the tasting room.

Visited with my mom for her birthday. It was our second winery of the day. The castle is majestic and is worth seeing. Beautiful courtyard, Chapel and view. Disappointing tasting. We were offered 5 wines. The staff was over zealous and reminded us they were there to 'sell' wine. Took away from the enjoyment. They made a big display of being Italian, it was really over the top and the yelling in Italian just became annoying. While I am glad I visited bc of the beauty of the grounds but the tasting, we'll left a bad taste in our mouths and we quickly left without purchasing anything. Much preferred our tour at the Mondavi Winery.

We had the fortune to have a beautiful day to tour this magnificent castle! What a treat - it was truly beautiful. You can't imagine how gorgeous every part of this castle is, I felt as if I was in Italy. I can see it was a abor of love building it! We purchased the $19 tour and wandered around, we ended in the wine tasting room with Vincenzo as our guide to the delicious wines. The ambience is fantastic! I was amazed at how fabulous these wines are, We purchased 15 bottles and feel we recieved the best value. Thak you Vincenzo for a beautiful end to a fantastic day!
