We arrived in Calistoga on the late side, 7:30 pm and didn't have reservations on a Friday evening. We tried to get in to JoLe and they almost laughed us out the door. We took a chance and went to Barolo which is right next door. They had a table for us and were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. The service was relaxed, yet efficient and the food was great. We shared a roasted beet and arugula salad which was perfectly dressed, each arugula leaf was lightly coated with light balsamic vinaigrette. I had the black garlic risotto and it was perfect, creamy and the rice just al dente. Highly recommend.
