We went to Barolo during a wine tating trip. My wife and I shared the antipasti and short rib. The antipasti board was very niceThe server brought out the short rib plate and thought that it was nice that they split the dinner for us. It was served with polenta and a vegetable which were very tasty but the short rib was literally a short rib, about 2 inches of a rib. $22 for a small piece of short rib was not my idea of a dinner. The said that was the usual serving size. Don't get the short rib if you are hungry

Fantastic food and great service. Totally hit the spot on the craving. We were on vacation and passing through the town and stopped in for lunch, very happy with our choice. We would definitely recommend Barolo

Showed up without reservations and were seated at the bar. Nice casual setting but my wife noted that it seemed to lack an identity. Heirloom tomatoe salad appetizer was delicious but then we waited...and...waited...and...waited... Split a Margherita pizza & short rib entree but there was an extensive delay in getting our meal. When it did come, the shortrib was very good, pizza OK. The bartender/server was very apologetic and comp'd us our drinks & dessert to make up for it. May have been the. Service may have been the exception not the rule as others seemed to get food & drinks promptly.

This is a small Italian restaurant right on the main street of Calistoga. There is outdoor dining and the cocktails are delicious. Our antipasta was good and the short ribs exceptional. Good friendly service. A bit pricey for the casual atmosphere.
