We have been here a few times over the past two decades... and always wonder whether they will still be open next time. They're usually not full, and I don't understand why!
We met some friends for lunch on a hot day. It was pleasant inside and the service was attentive, friendly, but not cloying. It was perfect. They had a couple of reasonably priced wines on the menu... always good to see.
I love a great salad for lunch and it can be tough to find a place that has a delicious, fresh salad with protein in it... as well as something more sinful for my husband. We found them both here.
My salad was dressed perfectly with a tart and flavorful dressing. It had lots of different flavors throughout... the greens were clearly super fresh. The chicken was not mixed and hidden throughout... it was a one big, deliciously seared piece of breast meat which had been thinly sliced and was placed on top. wonderful bread, as well.
hubbie had a pulled pork sandwich which was very rich and served with 2 sides. he was very happy. the other two at our table were happy with their salads and pasta. it was just a great meal.
i thought that the prices were reasonable for such fresh and layered menu items. we had just been wondering why the place is never that busy when we ran into a couple from australia who had been visiting san francisco. i asked if they'd had a favorite meal there... and they replied that, actually, their favorite meal so far had been their dinner in calistoga... at All Seasons! it was nice to hear... and we thought... well, it's not just us. they really are great!
i highly recommend them... and hope they stay around for another couple of decades.
