Tuesday night, so not all the top-rated restaurants were open. After seeing the menu, we decided to take our party of 6 to the Calistoga Inn. We were very pleased. The patio is just lovely, and our table overlooked the Napa River (really just a creek, in Calistoga). I have always loved the red ale and it was as good as ever (and just $3 at happy hour at the bar). Those who ordered pizzas got good ones, with some left over to take home. I had the beef short ribs, which are rich and delicious -- with potatoes to soak up the gravy, but polenta would have been good too. Desserts were very good, and large enough to share. I'll be back.

My husband and I went to the Inn for dinner. While the outdoor patio was lovely, the service was terrible. It was 8:30 at night and not very crowded. It took us 15 minutes to even get water. By the time our waiter came, we promptly ordered. However, although he promised bread and assured us we could split the Mediterranean salad, the former was never forthcoming and the latter arrived on one plate and very small. Luckily, the bar tender who brought our wine, at our request, also brought us the bread and an extra plate. Our pasta entrees arrived aftee some wait--overcooked linguine and literally a few bitefuls--my husband left hungry and dissatified. Our waiter only came back at the end to
bring our bill. When we asked to see the manager, he did come and apologize, but he only asked for us to please come back in the future and ask for him. He did not discount our meal, offer complimentary dessert, etc. Insincere and inexperienced management. We are moving to the Bay area, so they lost a potentially loyal customer. We will never go back.

We ate here for our 2 nights in Calistoga. Great menu with plenty of choice. Staff friendly. Lovely outdoor terrace area. Reasonably priced and you can bring a bottle of your own wine for $15 corkage. We really enjoyed both evenings here. We stayed in St christophers inn and its about 150m from there.

Went here for dinner. Had the Mediterranean salad - wonderful! Also grilled artichokes. And the fungi pizza. Quiet. Great food. Beautiful interior and heated outside patio. Good value. Going back tonight!

We have been coming here for lunch on the patio and last night had an opportunity to join friends for dinner. It was raining, so no patio but the inside has been redone and is very light and airy. Service was outstanding. I had the short ribs with polenta which was excellent, my husband tried the paella (good) and our guests had their house salad and pizza. Very good quality, tasty food. They had some interesting appetizers on their menu so will defintely try their happy hour. Love the outside patio right on the river!
