Storybook Mountain winery has a lot to answer for - we met, drank a bottle of their fine zinfandel and got married. Twenty five years later we got to visit the winery. We joined four other people for a tour with the delightful Pam who made the visit very special. The story behind this small winery and the two families who work there is fascinating, and the views we enjoyed were spectacular. We loved standing in the redwood grove and hearing about the history and resilience of the magnificent trees that have survived so much. We hope they are still standing proud. It is tragic to know that the devastating fires this week will have changed the landscape. All the people connected to Storybook are in our thoughts and prayers at this terrible tough time. We hope that they all come through OK and that before too long more visitors are able to enjoy this fantastic winery visit and taste the delicious zinfandel, cabernet and viognier that we were lucky enough to sample in the caves. Our stand out memory of our Napa trip. Our thanks to Pam and all the family members we met. Just 40 minutes from vine to press, wow.

Skip the large wineries and take the time to explore & taste these wines. Great, small, winery with very personal attention. They are doing it the right way.

A beautiful winery at the far north end of Napa. One of the family members, Rick, led us on a small walk up into the vineyard showing us the different vines and explaining their processes, it concludes with a small walk thru the caves and tasting in a small area within the caves. They have fantastic Zin's. We could get enough cell reception for Uber on Verizon while we were out there but it could be spotty. It's a great drive in the morning up to the winery.

Took my group of 12 to Storybook Mountain Vineyards. Hubby and I had joined the wine club last July and wanted to take our friends. Pam was our hostess and she was very fun and knowledgeable. The wines are fantastic--they are known for their zins. Everyone in our group bought wine there.

Storybook Mountain is on a very short list of wineries that we visit each time we are in the area and we go straight to the tasting room! We love the entire story of the winery's development and sharing stories of our families, while tasting great wines. In our very first trip to the area about 15 years ago, we had our first bottle of Storybook Mountain Zin, enthusiastically recommended by our waiter. Oh, what a great find that was!
We shall return!! P.S. We ended our last night with a lovely half bottle from the Cal-Mart store...
